CAN A DOMESTIC HELPER HAVE A LEASE?

Q1
A Filipina maid wants to take out a long term lease on a condo here in Singapore. She will not be living in the unit, it is empty. Is this allowed?

Q2
ditto except the maid buys the condo.

//
On basis that she has existing legal residency then I assume no law(s) infringement?

Re: Having a hard time finding job on DP status

If you have a skill that an Asian expat can do then it's tough to compete here. A western expat also has higher expectations with regard to housing so the minimum salary circa 7k. I am a quantity surveyor and it's tough (local salaries 4-6k). But, I am also an experienced Contracts Mgr.; a tougher j...

Re: House rental issues

OP
You have a strong position: The term "reasonable" (definition by you) is your backstop.

Be fair to the owner, if they want to sell then you should allow potential buyers access, albeit with provisos.

Re: Is Airbnb legal in Singapore ?

OP 1. Ask for evidence that the company 'managing' the block allow AirBnB. // Q1. Is there a central listing in Sg of condo blocks that do not allow AirBnB? Q2. Is there a maximum number days you may rent out via the AirBnB website? Q3. If AirBnB is illegal then why do they an office here? https://w...

I do not foresee any problems except perhaps if your "visa runs" are in/out same day which may raise a red flag.

Is there a reliable reference listing all countries that currently allow entry to domestic helpers (for nationalities; Filipino, Indonesian, Myanmar)?

VIBER ACCESS TO GOOGLE DRIVE (SAFE?)

"Viber Messenger Has access to Google Drive"

Grateful for reasons why Viber demands access for their App to function (I think this is so).
What's the impact if I deny Viber access.

NEED ONWARD TICKET (SINGAPORE)?

Is onward ticket required when arriving in Singapore by air? If yes, then does this rule apply irrespective of nationality? Will the departure airport staff (at check in) forbid you to fly to Singapore if don't have onward ticket? Different countries have different rules? Anyone been asked by immigr...

Re: Can I keep my stocks and bank account while on sabbatical with no EP?

I agree with the answers but here is a question: How is the OP to answer the question most financial institutions are now asking "...... confirm country of your tax residency....." Since the OP has left Sg then I presume "not ordinarily resident" in Sg. The OP is "floating&q...

Re: Freelancing for a foreign company while on Tourist Visa

You're going to get whacked for your visa runs, sooner or later. Since you are not officially resident in Singapore, you should pay your taxes in your home country. Q1. whacked means prevented from entering (forever or indeterminate)? Q2. if non resident (for tax purposes) in said home country, e.g...
