Re: Letter for reconsideration for rejected tourist visa

Unfortunately the number of Russian (and other former Soviet Satellite States) women coming in singly to work in the vice industry has really jumped in the last 10 years. I suspect that's what's catching her out. We suspect the same reason as well. I am happy to sponsor her and not sure how to incr...

Re: Digital front door lock

I uses Gateman since 2015. It recognizes finger prints, digital and have a remote control (like a car key). One of the best decisions I made, since I don't have to carry any key anymore. If I have an overseas guest, I'll pass the remote to them. My help is digitally scanned as well, so if I need to ...

Re: Average salaries in Singapore

I'm in digital forensics/cyber security and was making in the range of $110k USD (excluding bonuses, OT, RSUs, etc.) prior to moving here. I've been in negotiations with a number of companies who have been extremely persistent in questions about my previous salary and all have insisted that I shoul...

Re: 5500 SGD/month for housing - single young expat - where to live?

Welcome to Singapore! My husband is from Belgium too! :) Do you have more information on how long you will be here and you will be here based on an employment pass or work visa? If you are here on work visa, service apartments in Singapore would be pricey. The alternatives is to potentially find an ...

Yes it does... you can google it. Amazon sells it but I am looking for a place that sells it in Singapore, with easy access for the refills.

Re: Advice for buying used car

I guess we aren't quite there yet, but the current model of car ownership is going to be replaced by an uber type model, but without drivers. If the predictions are to be believed. 30 mins is too long to wait. I guess I've never hired in rush hour. Honestly, I am not sure if car ownership is the so...

Re: Advice for buying used car

Have you considered Uber or Grab as an alternative? It's a chauffer driven car on call with none of the hassles of car ownership, e.g parking. Do the maths and see if it makes sense. I'm currently using Uber and Grab, but it make sense now, since I don't need to get around so much. For the distance...

Re: Advice for buying used car

I am currently debating internally on whether to buy a new car or rent a car, and wonder if anyone has experiences towards renting a car. My current job does not requires me to have a car, and my place is a 10 mins cab ride away from work. I may take up a new job, whereby I would need to travel betw...

Re: International tax advice wanted

A lot depends on your domicile and if you remit the income into another country, but Strong Eagle's rule of thumb isn't far off. Trusts or holding companies may help, but it really depends on your specific situation. One left field option, depending on the type of property, would be to hold them in...

Re: Best Bank for Company Foreign Currency Accounts??

I can't recommend the best bank but I can explain why it is enormously difficult for you to open such accounts. All the banks are being whacked by MAS since 1MDB. Company accounts are one of the most difficult and expensive accounts that banks are maintaining, largely because of the number of transa...

Re: Graduate/Entry level Banking & Finance jobs

If her results are good, another possibility is to apply for Management Associate Programs. The bank I work in, has quite a reasonable number of MAs from Asean countries. Just submit to all the banks with MA programs and see what happen.

Re: Looking to move back to the UK

Just got back from Europe and managed to meet 2 recruiters and catch up with some colleagues. Based on discussions with recruiters, most banks are moving the London jobs to lower cost locations and everyone is maintaining a wait and see attitude towards the Brexit. Bonus payment is coming as well, s...
