Thanks for your reply. This took me by surprise as I thought we were being vigilant but I guess with all the rain we've been having recently I should have stepped up our checks. $200! Wow I was hoping it would be $100 but they've obviously increased it....sigh.

Help! Mosquito larvae found in my flower pot....

Okay I am well and truly mortified! I am so diligent about stagnant water but we've been away and clearly I have been negligent and unfortunately the NEA showed up on my doorstep and found larvae in my plant pot tray outside. Now I know they're going to fine me but I just feel stressed about the who...

Hi there, sorry I'm not going to be much help but just wanted to say I'm in the same boat! We moved here from NZ in Oct and I've got 3 yr old twins, I'm currently on the hunt for just the sort of preschool you're talking about but the ones that seem to fit the bill are seriously expensive...I'm hopi...

Hi - thanks so much for your reply - our dog too is used to having people around so your vet's suggestion sounds like a good one. will definitely look into it.

Is it possible to get housesitters here?

Hi - I posted a few days ago about finding somewhere to keep my elderly dog while we're away over Christmas and the more I think about it the more I think she will be so much happier in her own enviroment. So I'm thinking housesitter but I'm not sure if (or how) that is done here in Singapore? Anyon...

Thank you both for your quick replies. I will definitely check out the one in Pasir Ris. I did figure that it would be difficult over the holidays.
Hopefully we'll be able to find something suitable.
Cheers,

Advice on pet sitters/homestay/boarding

Hi, We have recently moved to Singapore with our very old little dog (16yrs!) and need to find her somewhere to stay (or someone to look after her) while we go home for 3 weeks over xmas and new year. I definitely don't want somewhere where she will be in a cage. Has anyone had any experience or any...

Hi, Blue Sapphire - how funny! It is a small world :) Great World is fine but would you be able to explain to Catherine how to get here? There is that free shuttle from outside Tangs if she were to get to the Orchard MRT... Otherwise I'd be quite happy to meet you and we could catch a bus to Plaza S...

Hi guys, 9 or 930 is fine w/ me and I agree that it would be nice to meet up before for a bite to eat to get to know each other. I am staying at the Great World City Serviced Apts so GV Grand is very convenient for me :D but keep in mind that it's a "luxury" theatre so big airline seats etc so costs...

Hi Catherine, Fantastic! I am not the best at organizing but sure we could sort something out :) We are staying very close to Orchard at the moment in a serviced apartment but will be moving to our own place in a couple of weeks. So how does next week sound? Let me know what nights would suit you an...

All Girls Movie Club still happening?

Hi there - I saw an old thread on this forum about an All Girls Movie Club. I am a 35 yr old female, married w/ 3 kids. We just moved here from New Zealand 2 weeks ago. I am a big movie buff and really miss the girls movie nights that I used to go for in NZ plus it would be fantastic to meet some pe...

Just my experience - my family and I moved here 2 weeks ago and are looking for a school for our 7 yr. old. Just this morning we went out on our first round of school visits. We saw the Canadian International School, Emaar, the Australian School and Dover Court. None of them had waiting lists and al...
