As far as I know, the plan is still there: Controllers can take up courses at the SFC and pay only 10% of the listed fee.

But do note that you can only enjoy the plan AFTER you complete 2 full years of service as a PATCO == you must complete your probation before you can apply for the plan.

About the time frame-- for my time, HR contacted within 2 or 3 days after I submitted the online application form. The computer test was arranged to be taken within one week. After the test, HR contacted me again after a few days, and told me the 1st interview date. Blah blah. The whole selection pr...

chooniE: If you're thinking that having that Bachelor of Aviation Mgt degree will help you in your ATC career, you can drop the idea now. I've heard of a controller who initially entered the company with a diploma and later in his career took the Avaition degree, but his pay reamined unchanged. HR w...

You might want to give them a call and check. It's possible that the system missed your application or something.

passion guy: you mentioned you have the passion for radar. This is my point again-- how much do you REALLY know about the job? Allow me to explain. When you join, you get automatically assigned to either AREA or APPROACH stream. Trainees don't have a choice here, and once you're in a stream, you're ...

CAAS is the only organisation in Singapore that hires ATC, other than the Air force. CAAS controls the civil part and the military control is all up to the Air Force side. You might want to check the SAF site for information. Can't help you with that cos I don't have any connections with those. You ...

Well, I did manage to pass on my first attempt. Initially I thought I won't make it cos I did not finish the section on IQ questions.. You might want to email HR or call them to ask about a second try. If you're really interested, try again. They're forever in need of controllers, so don't worry abo...

Not sure which part of the screening you mean. After HR review your online application and find your educational level OK, they'll call you to go for an aptitude & computer personality test. The applicants won't know what's the passing mark for the tests. HR will simply tell thet you'll get a ca...

Just wondering-- the airline seems to be doing only domestic flights within India. A bit weird to be hiring expat cabin crew though.. Just my opinion~~

About the pay, well, Singapore ATC controllers are earning far less than what other countries' controllers are. This is roughly how it works. (All amounts are BEFORE CPF deductions) Once you start hte first day of service, the probation of TWO years starts. Note: When you start service= start first ...

For those interested in the job, can post here, and I'll try to answer the best I can. The male-female ratio in ATC in quite bad. Not a big surprise, cos most ladies won't consider this job in the first place since there's not much 'publicity'. Also, like I mentioned, the pay is way below what outsi...
