Re: Movie in SG

Newbie here. Any recommended VPN service that is effective in terms of cost? Use Google because it seems to change quite frequently. There are plenty of sites that publish ratings of VPN services so that will give you a flavour. I've been using Torguard for a few years. It had what I needed when I ...

Personally I see that as a good call. The longer I spend here the less I want to be stuck here.

Re: Stay on EP or PEP?

A friend knew redundancy was coming so changed from EP to PEP which allowed him to stay in Sg and find another role. That's an example of a good use of PEP.

Re: DBS Non Existant Fraud Controls

BGD - it sounds like another thing to manage which is hard for time pressed folks.... but ok thanks. I think I would use the Transferwise debit card instead (similar features). My thoughts when I was first told about it, however it comes with a convenient app which makes management a breeze. It qui...

Re: DBS Non Existant Fraud Controls

Check out YouTrip. It's a Sg based card aimed at travelers which you top up via a phone app using CC or DC. In the OP's scenario loss is limited to the value on the card. All transactions appear instantly on an App so you see what you are spending when you spend it. Top up takes seconds so you can k...

Re: Indian Licence Conversion - 2B+Class 3

You need to do the BTT before your licence can be converted. I would suggest that you confirm with LTA that you are able to convert your licence before enrolling for the test. If your licence can be converted you only need do the BTT, not practical tests. If it can't you have to go through the entir...

Re: Public holiday for non office workers

You will only get one day. MOM states that the following Monday will be a holiday if your "rest" day is Sunday. So in your case, as you work on Sunday, Sunday should be your holiday. See the link below.

Re: Hotel or Airbnb

Booking.com has a useful map feature. Shows price and location. Pretty easy to choose that way. Also read the the comments on any place you are interested in, that often helps with selection.

Check out Lyf, they are a new arrival in the co-living scene in Sg. They may suit. Maybe pricey given their location, Funan.

Yes he currently working here. I know must apply but if rejected to get marry here will he be barre ? There is a good possibility of him not being allowed to marry here or having to give up his Work Permit (lose his job). And then there is the possibility of not being able to get an LTVP. You may h...

Re: Removing page 2 on MS Word

Backspace should work. Go to the end of page 2 and then backspace. It will delete the invisible characters which are pushing you onto a new page. File/Options/Display and tick the "Show all formatting marks" box will allow you to see all the hidden characters. Makes them easier to delete. Untick to ...

Re: E-Scooters banned on footpath from 5 Nov 2019

I had to look this one up. It's only motorised PMDs, i.e. e-scooters, e-bikes and the like, which are banned. Kick scooters, bicycles and PMAs (mobility scooters) are still allowed on footpaths. Bicycles and e-bikes can obviously use the roads. Other countries that have enacted similar bans at least...

Only if it's enforced. Cycles used to be banned as well, but you wouldn't have known it.
