Re: Whatsapp group for the Expats

Yeah, bgd, I reckon I am. Heck, I doubt if you even know what a rotary dial phone is. Or a party line. Or for that matter 28.8   28.8? I can remember when 14.4 was fast, it replaced my 2.4. I remember visiting a friend in the country and the phone number she gave me was something lik...

Re: What to do? I'm deformed and disabled !

Re: Wife denied entry need advice

Opps sorry i thought visa run is like staying sg for 30 days and go to msia uturn for another 30 days A visa run is leaving and then returning to Sg just to extend a visa. Regardless of intention it's the pattern that raises flags. And I'm sure nationality plays a part. But at the end of the day, w...

Re: Advice on Cloud and Banking Jobs in Singapore

It isn't easy, IT is being outsourced out of Sg. The general advice is to get transferred in. Trying to find something locally is pretty tough unless you have a niche skill set. - Tax: I have been told many times that Singapore tax will be much less than US. I am single with no dependents and I put maximum 401k (retirement) in US, so pretty much I only walk away with 50% of my earning (in Cash) right now. I hope Singapore tax will be more favorable especially I won’t be pu...

Re: Early stages - tax question

I’ve been having a look at . and rent seems extremely expensive, definitely something we will have to factor in. We are both so used to owning a car as well, obviously we won’t be buying one there but is it possible to lease something half decent for under $2k/month? Depending on where you live ren...

No. Find a job abroad and get a transfer to Sg. - Does IT companies look for foreigner or prefer they especially locals? Locals or cheap resources from the surrounding c...
