Re: Hoping to emigrate but don't know where to start

TEFL isn't big here, Sg is an English speaking country. There are English tutorial centres, research their qualification requirements if you want to go that route. The hours can be pretty anti-social and the money isn't great.

Re: Need an apartment at Lakeside MRT to stay

Cheap option - depends what that means. Sg is not a cheap country, especially accommodation. If you are a tourist, short term accommodation in Sg is limited to hotels or serviced apartments, legally at least. If you have some form of longer term pass then there may be options but I believe rentals a...

I reckon, banks, big pharma and let's not forget those dodgy O&G companies. Depends who you talk to.

Re: Moving to SG with PEP

Your understanding is correct. PEP or tourist pass? If you think you can find work within the 90 days (no guarantee you actually get 90 days - up to the guy on the counter) then go with a tourist pass. Don't know your situation but finding roles here can be difficult and time consuming if you don't ...

Re: Chewing gum for medicinal purposes - where to get?

I've never had a problem but it's never been on show and never a box.

A colleague brought quite a quantity through Changi and gave it to his wife to carry. She got stopped. Eventually she was released without penalty and without gum, but they gave her a grilling. He was on the sofa for a week.

Personally any excuse is enough for me to get out of Sg. Usually it's petrol, I throw in lunch and a bit of exploring and coincidentally pick up some gum for the wife.

Of course a good Christian should open his heart to the down trodden. OP, invite the poor homeless chap to stay with you.

Assuming you aren't moving often just put something like a sheet or large towel underneath and drag.

Re: Help needed on MOM rejection for me to marry foriegner

Your violation is you didn't seek permission to marry a SPR. If you have a search on these forums you will see the news is not good for you. It's unlikely you will be allowed into Sg, for a very long time if at all. Our own SMS can tell you how it breaks up families. https://www.mom.gov.sg/faq/forei...

Refreshing change, normally it's delay or avoid.

Age definitely could be an issue, but if you're a mature 16.5 and physically able then you'd be fine.

There is a Face Book group called something like "Singapore Expat Wives". Try there. I've known a few helpers who have been placed by being mentioned in that group.
