Re: American Living Outside SG Applying for PR Through Wife's PR

If you meet the salary criteria (18K per month I think) your other option is a PEP. It's like a PR in that it isn't tied to a job but only lasts 3 years and is not renewable. When it expires you need to move onto an EP, etc.

Re: Broken luggage claim

Years back my daughter turned up in Sg with a suitcase the size of a shipping container. In an effort to improve her traveling habits I found this link. https://www.onebag.com/ It's definitely worth a read. If you can get down to a single small bag it just makes travel so much easier, removes the wai...

Re: Formula 1

You need a ticket.

The whole race is pretty much hidden by fencing.

There are plenty of buildings that overlook the track but you need access and companies, mine for example, sell tickets and donate to charity.

Re: Steps to take to marry a Malaysian man (wp holder working in Singapore)

- Are there any other things that i should be aware of? Difficulties to drive in and out of Singapore every working day? That is a biggie. I know some people who moved across the causeway for schooling. The daily trip can be very hit and miss. So much so that they now also have a place in Sg for th...

Re: HSBC Singapore Poor Service

For an "Asian" boss of mine, the Premier service was great, with the RM having prepared all before I reached their place. Maybe it was a matter of big bucks, like 7 or 8 figure account ? They guys I knew banked with them in the UK, the transfer was botched in every case and I think they a...

That's pretty consistent with what I have heard from friends who have banked with them. I doubt you are an isolated case.

Re: Tennis court on rooftop of condo - noise issue?

How on earth do Harleys get away with making such a racket?

Guy behind me in the queue yesterday was getting his new standard muffler checked. He got picked up by TP for a non-standard muffler.

Re: Tennis court on rooftop of condo - noise issue?

I'm in a block which has a tennis court on the roof. Can't comment on the noise factor but I've never seen the thing used. In fact an agent, a regular in the block, swore there was no tennis court. Evenings are probably fine because of time restrictions, I would think weekends would be your problem....

Re: Moving to Singapore and Long term prospects

In my opinion what "sundaymorningstaple" makes more sense than people saying there is no public racism in sg. So I guess you could conclude that sg is an openly racist and they do not care. So if you can live with it and you have more pros and cons then move there, otherwise move on. And ...

This is the only one I frequent, other info is anecdotal, usually from the bar. Sg is a small place, especially the finance community.

Re: MAX limit for cash deposit into bank account?

UOB allows $20K deposit limit at cash deposit machines. DBS should be similar being a local bank.
