Re: Any feedback would be appreciated. Thank you for reading.

Just search these forums and you'll see that Sg recruiters are not held in high regard.

Better off using LinkedIn, networking and direct approaches to companies. There was quite a good explanation how one of our members used LinkedIn successfully here. A search will turn it up.

Does the verbal agreement bind people here? Can they sue with it?

The answer is here...

You can't stamp a verbal agreement. Verbal is not binding.

Re: Dog Walker

Limited I suspect. Most dogs, if not walked by their owners, are walked by maids. That's your competition.

Re: UK expat (non resident) cannot register with "gov.verify"

Assuming you still have your licence can you not just provide a scanned copy?

Of course if it has expired then you are stuck. Used to be possible to do it from abroad, but no longer.

Then you need to use a foreign licence. My Sg licence is the only one I have now.

I didn't see anything that says 3 years, just a UK residence. Is it buried in the detail?

Unless it is in your TA there isn't much you can do. I think you are going to have to provide your own wifi.

Re: Hi guys, i have a question about Teaching English, please help me

Schools have to apply for the work permit, you can't do it yourself. Singapore is an English speaking country so ESL isn't big here. I doubt you could get a job as foreigner in that line. There are English Tutorial Centres geared to teaching the locals better English. Worth a try but standards have ...

Re: LVTP and LOC questions

No CPF, just tax. :D

I believe it is easier for the employer, lower thresholds than an EP. The hard work is already done, i.e. your partner's pass.

The only issue you may encounter is finding employers that understand what a LOC is.

I can't remember any mention on here of an MP ever making any difference with respect to PR or SC applications.

Re: A quick question about right

It's whatever is in your employment contract. Even though it's a UK company, UK employment law doesn't apply here. Sg doesn't have the same protections as the UK for employees.

Re: Accommodation Dilemma!!

Little chance, locals can do that. They get priority. Unless you have a niche skill not easily found here you should look elsewhere.

However plenty of the big hotel chains seem to have foreigners in customer facing roles so it's not impossible, just difficult.

Re: Accommodation Dilemma!!

What sort of work are you looking for?

Sg isn't the sort of place you can just turn up and find work. Read these forums and you'll get the idea.

Re: Problem with TV channel

Netflix seems to be available in Vietnam so I guess they would have subtitles. You would need a Vn VPN to view from Singapore though.

Might be worth checking out the Sg version, they might provide the subtitle option.
