Re: Quarantine for Pets in Singapore

Anyone know what the deal currently is with pets coming into the country when you have to undertake 2 weeks of quarantine? Do they also need to undertake quarantine for that period? https://www.nparks.gov.sg/avs/pets/bringing-animals-into-singapore-and-exporting/bringing-in-and-transshipping-dogs-a...

Re: Watching a movie in the cinema

Pricing is ridiculous. Upwards of $40, and thats not even including snacks or drinks. Per person? Last time when I was in the cinema, year ago or so, it was ca SGD13-15 per ticket. I quickly checked GV and still see it in that range. Gold class in GV is 43$. But with HSBC card , u can get for 34.5$...

Re: Everyday items to bring from the US to Singapore

We haven’t found generics so far Generic loratadine (non-drowsy) and chlorphenamine (drowsy) for allergies is pretty cheap in the pharmacy compared to brand names Zyrtec/Claritin. It always less than $5 for me for about 40 tablets. Don’t look for them on the shelves which always stocks brand names,...

Re: Everyday items to bring from the US to Singapore

Thanks again for the great suggestions on what to bring over from the US, and my wife and I have loaded up on many of the items you all described. Well, I've arrived in Singapore and went straight into quarantine at the Fairmont. I've been informed that I can get groceries delivered on Redmart, but...

Re: Dine-in limit

More than the dine in limit, what bugs me is the gym restrictions. That is extremely frustrating. Yes i feel gyms may increase membership fee beyond a certain point due to actual and potential revenue loss More than the fear that my gym might increase the fee is the frustration of a regular lifter....

Agree. My boxing studio now has a mask-on policy. It’s hard to breathe without the masks on, with the masks on its nearly impossible.

Re: Buying a HDB or Condominium?

You’d have to be more specific with your questions. The two are not apples to apples, its impossible to compare. It all depends on what you value, whether thats price or privacy or facilities. If you prefer a more private estate with facilities and amenities, condos are a much better option. Of cour...

Re: Watching a movie in the cinema

If a couple were to go to the movies, can they sit together or have to maintain 1 mtr distancing there as well? Based on this seating arrangement in GV all seats are couple seats with 3-4 seats used as safe distance seats https://www.gv.com.sg/GVSeatSelection#/cinemaId/11/filmCode/6782/showDate/23-...

Re: HK or Singapore

South Korea and Japan are not bad options, but unfortunately they’ve handled the COVID crisis poorly, especially in comparison to Singapore. Aside from covid, Singapore has the advantage of speaking English. And enough Chinese to connect with China as well. Very true, I was just trying to present s...

You can choose to take a more hard-line approach, and pursue legal action, OR, you can try to kill them with kindness. No one wants to be enemies with their neighbors. Have a chat with them, maybe they’ll be understanding. If not, go ahead with your original plan.

Re: trying to relocate from UK

You sound like the type of person that enjoys planning, even down to the details… similar to me. In my case, I had a very compelling reason to move here… my wife-to-be. I quit my job, sold my car and and moved here, sight unseen, with a one-way ticket, no job and no visa, just two suitcases and a s...
