Re: Delta putting a damper on things global

I am not sure why the elderly do not want to get vaccinated? Isn't worse to contract it without having any protection..? I think the main issue is a lack of education leading to misconceptions. Many elderly are fearful of receiving the vaccine as they worry about side effects or that it is unnatura...

Re: Delta putting a damper on things global

I am not sure why the elderly do not want to get vaccinated? Isn't worse to contract it without having any protection..? I'm in this whatsapp group with a bunch of Singaporeans. There are often these discussions about vaccination. There seems to be a whole misinformation campaign which seeks to pus...

Re: IT; Which Internet Browser do you use?

Chrome keeps crashing on me recently. Banking, FB or even YouTube! Edge which is based on Chromium and pretty similar to Chrome much more stable IMO. Apparently chrome is faster than edge though, I’ve never used the latter personally but a google search didn’t return great reviews. Edge is a decent...

Re: Everyday items to bring from the US to Singapore

Woah, a box of Cheerios costs $11? Jeez, maybe I'll need to switch to something else. The blueberry Cheerios I used to eat everyday were $3.87 US for the family sized box... I guess exploring the grocery store will be another thing for me to do once I get out of quarantine. Here is a great example ...

Re: Quarantine for Pets in Singapore

Yes, that is really useful... but if me and my partner have to quarantine for 2 weeks. What happens to our cat for those 2 weeks? Can someone pick her up and look after her for that period? Can we book a cat hotel sort of thing? I literally can't find any info. You would probably have to board the ...

Re: Everyday items to bring from the US to Singapore

B’fast cereal is another item that can be rather pricey here depending on which one you choose, and variety/availability is limited. My hands-down favorite cereal here is one that is not even sold in the US… Kellogg’s Just Right (from Australia), which at around S$7 is priced right about in the mid...

Re: Everyday items to bring from the US to Singapore

Oh, great to hear that they have Horizon at Tanglin Marketplace! S$12 per half gallon is a little steep. I think I was paying $9 US for the 2% gallon jug at my Vons in LA, so it's about twice the price here in Singapore. Also good reference to know that low fat milk in Singapore is actually 1%. I h...

Re: Buying a HDB or Condominium?

Normally the choice will be determined by a person's residency and economic profile. Those with lower incomes usually will go for HDBs and those with higher incomes can go for condos. HDB Cons For PRs, when buying a HDB, you cannot own private property anywhere and must sell them within 6 months. T...

Re: Buying a HDB or Condominium?

All HDB estates now have exercise corners every few blocks that have some basic exercise equipment. No gym membership required, everyone is free to use it. Town council maintains it too. Swimming pool wise, you can deduct the entrance fee from your ActiveSG account but that’s for citizens and maybe...
