Re: Why do some people prefer sinovac?

My wife’s aunt in Indonesia was just moved to the ICU today. She contracted COVID last week. She was fully vaccinated with Sinovac. I know this is just one case, but it really makes me wonder whether Sinovac does any good at all? Even the unvaccinated have better than 50-50 odds of not having a ser...

Re: Why do some people prefer sinovac?

I would take Sinovac if I was living in a country where the pandemic was bad and that was my only option - although it may not be as effective, at least I would stand a better chance of not ending up with serious case. In Singapore though, you’ve got the best and most effective vaccines available, ...

Re: Why do some people prefer sinovac?

Sinovac uses the same method as all traditional vaccines use so probably trust is more? Secondly few believe that since covid originated there their vaccines would be most researched and effective as well? Sinovac is different from the rest of the covid vaccines, which are all mRNA vaccines. So no,...

Unfortunately, th...

Re: Everyday items to bring from the US to Singapore

Same here! Every time we go back to the US, its amazing to see the differences in price. Economically though, the price makes sense. When you import 90% of your food supply, you have to mark it up by a bit or make a loss. It's not only imports... container cargo is really very cheap, it's real esta...

Re: Pedra Branca

Excited to see the completed result. The dispute was pretty pointless in my opinion, considering Malaysia’s claims which were baseless. Even their own officials rescinded their claim on the island.

Doesn’t bode well for its legitimacy, especially in comparison with the other 2 dominant vaccines.

Odd for them to do so at such a time, considering most of the world has yet to return to normal.

Re: Bangkok apartments

Wow, 2-300 sq ft hardly seems like a livable space. Even staying in nicely furnished hotel rooms can be quite claustrophobic, I can’t imagine calling such a small room “home” full time.

Re: Migrating to Singapore as a doctor

Although realistically, if one was considering practicing medicine in Singapore, they would have thoroughly researched the requirements prior to completing their degree. This is one reason that so few MBBS's and universities are recognized... cultural context. Over and above the quality of the educ...
