Re: PR approval chance in 2020

Extremely low due to Australian citizenship and Indian Race. Why is Australian citizen low? Prima facie caucasian bucket?? Re: University undergrad SC rejected

Unfortunately, I am not Malaysian Chinese but Filipino. Thank you for explaining clearly. Does having past working experience internships (2-3 full time), help in any way? Or would it be purely based on my job post grad? Are there any other factors that I should consider to improve my chances durin...

Re: Moving back overseas SC/PR

Hello, I am a naturalised SC and my wife is PR. Due to private reasons, we have to move back overseas for an unforeseeable time. I note that Singapore government may cancel citizenship if you as a naturalised SC stay overseas for 5 years or more (if this does not render you stateless). Is this real...

Re: SC Approved

lot286, subconwretch - when I first login, I see the statement 'Citizenship Application has been approved'. When I click 'Enquire/View status', it is still pending. Only two days later, the application status changed to 'APPROVED IN PRINCIPAL'. U can also download the attached approval letter. One ...

Increased minimum salary for Employment Passes

https://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/manpower/minimum-salary-for-employment-pass-to-rise-to-4500-from-3900-even-higher I wonder what insight people here have on this.. It is perhaps the biggest hike so far. EP minimum salaries have long been touted as an indirect way of setting the "minimum wage"...

Re: SC Approved

I suppose you got an email notification saying there was an update to your application, and you could download the IPA (pdf) right away after logging in to MyICA. Correct?

Re: Cautiously calculating chances....PR...maybe?

@subconwretch thank you for the input!! My partner is Singaporean Chinese though ahahaha :) I'm so glad. Thank you for not reinforcing the stereotype! :D [emoji2960] because 9 out of 10 of them, even though have studied JC or university locally in SG, will still end up with someone from the motherl...

Re: Cautiously calculating chances....PR...maybe?

Hello everyone! I've been lurking on this forum for quite a while now, and have been reading everyone's interactions. It's been very illuminating to read all the information! I have been contemplating applying for PR but am fully cognisant of COVID-19, and the upcoming GE, and how all of that could...

Re: Malaysian renouncing citizenship

There is no compulsion to "convert" your driving licence, you can choose not to do so if you wish, and you can still drive in Malaysia with it while its valid. There is no difference from during the time you are a PR - you still cant drive in Singapore. You can choose to convert it anytime after, as...

Re: SC approval chances 2020

Really. As long as it meets the Minimum requirements which is somewhere around 4.5K/pa basic we think. Unless you happen to be from Malaysia with a decent degree. huh? 4.5k is alot... ok but the salary amt wont matter as much for rep renewal right? If you've gone to school here in your younger(<23)...

Re: What affects chances of getting PR in Singapore?

As for the reasons for keeping the criteria for obtaining permanent residency and citizenship opaque, Mr Shanmugam said: “We do not reveal the detailed criteria for granting (them) as it is not in our interest to do so. Revealing the detailed criteria would, among other things, create sensitivities...
