Data logged by govt or individual companies?

Just as a bit of a lark, I decided to see how long I'd be able to go without having to use the Safe Entry app or get my ID scanned. So far so good... I'm not sure why I get anxious about having my details logged, but I started wondering--in a perfect world where both systems are equally efficient, w...

Re: Lack of activity gives you more zits?

Maybe it's the heat and humidity? I know I sweat more now that I'm not working in an air-conditioned office :)

Re: Strange encounters

I don't believe in ghosts but I have seen one in an old PUB apartment I rented in the 90s. But if you think the Sikh was a ghost, that means you believe in ghosts, don't you? No I don't. The paradox is that ghosts can only be seen by those who don't believe in them. Uh...so if you really don't beli...

Re: When do you think we can stop wearing masks?

Actually the number of rule breakers is huge. Living in a HDB housing estate and being always on the watch (I'm a C.O.P. member and an RC member of 12 years) the number of violators is ridiculous. The number of mask wearers with the masks under their chins is unbelievable. Cigarette manufacturers a...

Re: Strange encounters

I've had way too many of these strange encounters to feel surprised anymore. I tried my best to remain sceptical for many years, but one spirit in particular was VERY determined to make sure I knew he/she/it wasn't just in my imagination. Maybe what you see depends on your sensitivity and acceptance...

Re: Working from home decreasing or increasing productivity?

I think if (A) the majority of our tasks allow for independent work, (B) we have the tech support we need, and (C) we don't have to juggle childcare demands at the same time, WFH is definitely the better choice... unless you're an extrovert and need people around to boost your energy levels lol. Lik...

Re: Tourist shops

Perhaps the pandemic will serve as a wake-up call for them to improve on the quality of their wares. I'm sure there will still be demand for tacky 'Singapore is a Fine City' shirts and 'I ♥ Singapore' mugs or whatever, but I think the tourist shops which will do best will be the ones who take this c...

Uh... You're looking for professional help to build your website? There's no shortage of web developers--companies and freelancers both. They should be able to build a website according to your specifications. Maybe try searching for one on Google.

Re: When do you think we can stop wearing masks?

I wish we could be trusted to take sensible precautions, instead of being forced to obey the letter of the law. We already do, to some extent. If I'm not wrong, we're supposed to wear masks at the workplace when we return to work, right? But if we can't eat out, doesn't that mean people will be taki...

Re: Social Distancing Rules are here for a very long time.

Perhaps they might be relaxed sooner than expected if/when a vaccine is developed. Not sure how many people would prefer to take a new vaccine over complying with social distancing rules for a longer time though.

Working from home decreasing or increasing productivity?

I read that ST article about a WFH survey with 9000 respondents from 90 companies. Apparently, 2 in 5 said that they were less productive when working from home, that it took them much longer to do the same amount of work that they would have completed otherwise. That was actually quite surprising t...

Re: Brisk walk

My parents are pretty old and they find it hard to breathe when they walk sometimes if they're walking just a tad faster than usual. Wearing masks makes their dizziness worse too. So far they're complying with the policy but I think there has to be some give and take over here...
