Re: Does anybody know how to get in touch with SIA?
I have never been so frustrated. As some of you know, my daughter is flying back with our dog in about two months. We've already booked her and my husband's tickets that go through Newark with SQ, but haven't been able to add the dog to our reservation. I've tried calling the phone number listed on...

Re: Now which Cigarette in SG is the cheapest?
I have learned from personal experience that quitting takes a special approach. If you think that you'll quit after you finish your last cigarette in your current pack, you'll never quit. You'll just buy another pack. When you're ready, buy a brand new fresh pack... and a new lighter as well. Smoke ...

Re: Need advice on non-competes
Read these websites, make your decision, then call one of them and explain your particular situation. In my experience, if you're not using the old company IP in your new job, and you're not taking clients with you to a new job, your old employer probably won't get anywhere. https://pkwalaw.com/non-...

Re: Working Remotely from Singapore as a Tax Resident - which pass/structure?
Indeed, there is a tax treaty. https://www.iras.gov.sg/media/docs/default-source/dtas/singapore-indonesia-dta-(ratified)(23-july-2021).pdf?sfvrsn=9be93475_8 There is a clear set of rules that will force you to be a resident of one country or the other, and thus, be subject to that country's tax rule...

Re: Importing a Motorbike
Had to login to post a pic of my Singapore scooter. 1522 cc Honda Valkyrie. The taxi drivers used to roll down their windows at stop lights and say, "How much you pay?"

Re: Importing a Motorbike
What year bike is it? You're in for a world of pain if it is more than 3 years old and not yet old enough to be a classic I believe. However I may be wrong. Let us know how it goes. I'd love to import a CB500X. Exactly right. If it's more than 3 years old, the LTA won't consider the bike for import.

Re: Working remotely on overseas company while on DP
Hello! thanks for below, i would like to know if you know the number of this law. My husband under a DP is currently working freelance for a company outside of Singapore, with no ties to the country. Do you know the number of the law? Does the IRA ask a letter to certify that the foreign company is...

Re: Thoughts on 377a repeal
I never said is was a choice, but it’s not always binary either. I might not personally agree with the activities (must I?) but I have no phobia or prejudice against anyone. I also never said they should not have equal rights that a civil marriage contract provides. If some kind of same sex civil u...

Re: Thoughts on 377a repeal
I do not believe my views on this are unduly influenced by religion. Although I have deep respect and admiration for those who are devoutly religious, if I were a zealot, I’d be pushing for a strict religious state under biblical cannon law. Instead, I lean very much Libertarian and support non-int...

Re: Getting a corporate bank account - how difficult?
Thanks for the reply, yes upon looking into it further, others have also said the same as you with regard to needing to update directors with the bank and being denied. No I wouldn't be a resident, but I thought Singapore companies were territorially taxed and not taxed on foreign sourced income? A...

Re: Getting a corporate bank account - how difficult?
Steve - I understand the concern. Wise is quite different to Revolut in that it is both Singapore MAS registered as well as UK FCA. I've had friends transfer SGD$3MM with wise from the UK to Australia. Wise actually use bank accounts to hold funds in unlike Revolut or PayPal. I would not HOLD money...

Re: Letter of Employment for myself when I'm the director and employee
I incorporated a Pte Ltd company as sole director. I am the 100% owner and the only employee in the company at the moment. As I am the director of the company and at the same time paying myself a monthly salary as an employee, may I ask whether is it normal to issue a letter of employment myself an...
