Re: Is it necessary to register a company when doing online business?

Hi Jim, Thank you for your information is very helpful. It seems that if I register the company, it will be more profitable for me in the future but I don't know what additional procedures do I need to do? eg: quarterly, annual reports or other information needed. If you know please share with me. ...

Maybe Myasis should have used "John Doe" as Meo let 'Jim Smith' go over her head like a lead balloon.
I thought about "Sum Ting Wong" but decided against it.

Re: Incorporating LLP in Singapore

Hi Myasis Dragon, Thanks for the reply! I understand that Pte Ltd is definitely the best choice, however considering that i'm just doing this as a hobby aside from my day job and expecting a revenue of not more than 5k yearly, i don't think i would be able to afford the costs required to set up a P...

Re: Consequences of withdrawing SC Application after receiving AIP

There is only one thing that could _possibly_ get you off the hook and ensure your REP renewal. We know that you must give up your other citizenship(s) as part of the SG naturalization process. You would need to demonstrate circumstances related to giving up your citizenship so drastic that no reaso...

Re: Incorporating LLP in Singapore

You don't want a partnership. You want to form a private limited (Pte Ltd). This gives you the corporate veil that you are seeking for liability protection. You can be the sole and single shareholder of a pte ltd. You can be the sole and single director of a pte ltd. The only requirement for a sole ...

Re: Career/Industry Change in SG

Thanks Dragon so PMP seems to have some actual tools that could be used at the right place & time and not some fluff certification. Any by the way when it comes to banking American banks have AVPs - > VPs - > SVPs -> Director -> MD but some banks have Associate Director --> Director --> Senior Dire...

Also worth mentioning: * sales engineer (sales) * customer success engineer (sales) * software engineer in test (tester) * talent researcher (recruiter) ;) I became the applications development manager of a large IBM mainframe shop. My initial title was "Programming Manager". About two years later,...

Re: Career/Industry Change in SG

Good one myasis you breath fire like a dragon. Can oso tell me how useful is PMP to project management? You should know that obtaining a PMP doesn't teach you anything about managing a project. What it does give you is an excellent framework from which you _can_ manage a project, IF you know how to...

Solutions architects who are really pre sales guys with very shallow technical knowledge. Indeed... "solution" is the word to watch out for. Saleslut John: Hey, Bob... we can bounce the customer signals off the moon, thereby saving them those outrageous fees and taxes, can't we Bob? Solutions Archi...

Big speakers, plenty of bass, powerful amp. Lay speakers directly on floor over their bedroom. Play heavy metal at full volume while they are trying to sleep.

Re: Career/Industry Change in SG

Thanks for that! Yeah, very true. Of course project management (the work) is specific. However, the job title itself is not. I'm glad that you think the Government recognises this distinction. My business card said, "Project Manager". I'd walk into a company where they had "Project Manager I", "Pro...

Re: Career/Industry Change in SG

Wow, that is interesting. I would have thought going from a highly specialised job title to a generic one like "project manager" would raise questions. Except, real project management IS highly specialized. I spent most of my 8 years in Singapore rescuing failed projects (all multi-million dollar f...

Re: Career/Industry Change in SG

In my experience, project management is a highly desirable skill according to the gahmen. I never had an issue in getting EP's for project managers, especially ones with the PMP certification.
