Re: PR surrender and CPF withdrawal

Also add to that, there is a likelihood of her not being able to get an LTVP. The gov't doesn't like people to try to play-play with their planning.

Re: Chances of Citizenship Approval?

The Government is not a charity. They don't give anything without quid pro quo.

Lower than before. Will look like you plan on busting up the family if you apply on your own. Not the image you want to portray. At least I don't think it is.

Re: Has your helper been vaccinated?

It's like everything else the Government's done in the past 1.5 years. They've become like the weather. You don't like it or you do like it, no matter, it will change in a hour or so. The Gov't is currently like a lost ball in high weeds, in my opinion.

Re: EP Processing Time Feb 2021 / Mar 2021

See folks, just like the case of the disappearing button. It signifies absolutely nothing other than you cannot submit any more paperwork. It is what it is. No reading between the lines necessary. But then again, this will pass over your heads like the proverbial lead balloon.

Re: Chances of Citizenship Approval?

This is an interesting case. Did you receive your PR before or after your medical pes f? I have a feeling you may be deferred on SGC until Uni graduation, but you should not be penalized for a medical deferment. They may want to see how well you do in Uni first. e.g., will you be able to contribute ...

Re: Has your helper been vaccinated?

Mine's been registered for a couple of weeks, but I think priority is being dealt out like it is was for locals, in age brackets. My helper has a couple of older burmese FDW friends who have already gotten theirs, but my helper in only in her mid 30's so is still waiting. I think the tipping point m...

Re: Timeline of my husband's initial PMLA & LTVP, and subsequent renewal

Excellent post MOCHS! While the ability for 2 year LTVPs has been around for a while, it would seem that the are taking longer to vet for renewals but reducing their annual workload at the same time. Good to know. TYVM!

Re: Ex Singapore PR - Need to Serve NS??

Yep, it is true. Depending on your age, you will probably be called up, if for no other reason than to prove a point that they mean business. So better prepare yourself mentally ahead of time.

Re: Do expats here eat durians?

Nah, Usually one bite was enough to turn me off. I don't get that thing called gastric. I've always, since young, eaten most anything you put in front of me. I think my digestive system is pretty ironclad to be honest. You would understand if you saw me with chili padi when down in Indonesia (worked...
