Re: Entry Permit
^^^^This one sounds about a clueless as syuu did over 4 years ago and hasn't posted since. And the government is thinking about giving them PR. I can see Singapore going back down to 3rd world status in the future if this keeps up.

Re: EP cancelled while awaiting PEP
What we don't know is if pete_899 notified the MOM when his EP was canceled as is required. If not he probably found himself up a creek without a paddle.

Congrats. As they say, patience is a virtue. Now you know how long your piece of string was.

Re: Age limit for National Service as a PR
Hi All, I face the same situation as dumb and dumper. Can anyone tell me your experience if you receive your PR under the family tie lane above 40 years old if you still called up for NS? Appreciate your input I received my PR via Family Ties in May 1995, in two more months I will be 75. Like all t...

Does your birth certificate show either of your parents as Chinese? If so, should not be an issue.

Re: Role of Main tenant
abbby, OP did mention that she told the sub-tenant that she would not be renewing the contract. I'm a fish out of water here, but not renewing the contract isn't the same as terminating the contract is it?

Re: PR Approval Probability 2021
Once I start in the new company, ideally I want to immediately apply for PR, but one of the required documents is this: A9 Current Employer’s letter stating the date of employment, position held, salary per month for the past 6 months with breakdown into basic, overtime and allowance per month Do I...

Re: What’s the deal with HDB cats?
I'm not disputing any of that at all. Except for the fact that in a condo or landed property it is your property and you pay for the ability to keep cats as do you on fully landed property. It is your property. That cannot be said about the HDB. They are government owned and the government must cont...

Re: PR for aged parents?
MOCHS, I thought about the one-parent at a time thing as well, but the big difference (hopefully) is the special dispensations that are not published on the ICA website but available for our neighbors across the causeway. Just like the much lower income requirements for Malaysia EP and the extra ben...

Re: Is it easier to apply for a job when already inside Singapore ?
Where are you from? If from a western country it will be very difficult to get a job unless being sent by a parent company you are already working for. Most companies here will no longer provide "Expat" relocation expenses or hardship posting uplifts as this is definitely NOT a hardship posting. The...

Re: PR for aged parents?
Thanks SMS! Guess I will look into the LTVP then. Do you think the older they get the harder it will be to get a LTVP? Reason being I think the need may only come in the next 2-3 years, if we do have kids by then. Just wonder if it would make more sense to apply now or later? Try bringing them in o...

Re: EP application graduation date
Wait until you receive your graduation cert. Or not, but prepared for the additional time you will waste because of lack of patience after you start a volley of correspondence that could cost you a lot of time. Don't be crazy, go get a pizza and relax. Good things come to those who wait and follow t...

Re: Where will you retire?
Back when I was a car owner I lived in a very ulu part of Singapore in Seletar Camp at the end of Jln Kayu. A car was almost a necessity depending on how far inside the camp you lived. There was only one feeder bus that went into the camp and one bus down Jln Kayu so depending on your arrival time, ...
