Our PR has been approved :) :) Congrats Thank you I'd like to be wrong, but ......... Congratulations. This is one of those occasions I like to see. You have something else which we are/were not privy too. We haven't walked in your shoes for the past years but you have done something correct that t...

I gotta laugh. It's even worse for me. I've actually been here 2x as long as Lisa (literally). Six years is a drop in the bucket.

I remember when that blew up over here. In fact, if we search the archives here around 2016 or 17 I believe there was a thread on it as well.Addadude wrote: ↑Thu, 23 Mar 2023 6:03 pmSomehow I don't think Darlie will have any issues in China.

Re: CPF and US Tax Filing
I've been filing from Singapore for the last 40 years (mine went into the mail to the NC P.O. Address this afternoon along with a physical cheque for the amount due - got hit rather hard (for me anyway) due to the proceeds from a 10 yr endowment ins policy which when thrown on top of my 85% taxable ...

I wasn't actually referring to just Singapore, but I wasn't specific. But that was the reason I said stick around and give it a shot but make a plan b. Right now isn't the time to voluntarily shoot oneself in the foot as long as he can hold out through another EP renewal.

Re: Stupid news articles
I believe someone said 'he who ignores history is doomed to repeat it'. The new generation already doesn't know squat about the local history and I think, if there isn't a major shift in the mind-set the little red will not survive to see 2050. Even my own country is well on the way to self-implosio...

Same car but highly modified under the bonnet and the suspension/drivetrain. I've never tried to drive it like Rowen Atkinson sitting in a large chair on the top though.

Back when I was on my diet hard core I used to make tuna salad and stuff inverted portobello mushrooms and sprinkle grated cheese on top and throw them in the toaster oven. One large stuffed portobello was enough for a meal and stay within my regime.

I went to quite a few minstrel shows back in the day when I was still in high school. In fact, The Elks Club used to have a big deal out of their production in my hometown. (this was before integration. I was in the last segregated class to graduate from my high school.

Re: PR application chance 2023
Slim. But not impossible. As you are married, if you have offspring it may help. Problem is Singapore is shedding IT people left & right. I'd be also looking at a Plan B. Was your education a twinned degree here in Asia or did you do your degree in the UK itself. Yours is a difficult one and it's pr...

Re: Will Darlie toothpaste be next?
It was still Darkie when I got here. a couple of years later it was changed to Darlie. The face was also changed to a shadow face instead of the minstrel face originally used. Most here don't even know what a minstrel was. Probably instigated by a leading edge 'woke' white liberal piece of sh*t.

Or like the trick they pulled with Milo sachets over the past two months. I usually buy two of the 18 sachets bags of Milo 3-in-1 for my wife (I don't drink it) each trip to NTUC. Last month I grabbed a couple of bags and threw 'em in the cart and when I got home, exactly the same size bag but where...

I sold both of my cars within 6 months of the North/South line joining the new EastWest line in the late1980s. I lived at the end of Jln Kayu and took a feeder bus to the YCK station and fromm there to Raffles place and the short hop to Int'l Plaza. Haven't owned a car since, albeit I did have a ca...

Re: "Proceed to upload documents" button is missing in ICA Website
Maybe, maybe not. Why? Who knows. We are not bloody mind readers here. You have to stop being deliberately obtuse when coming here with your hat in your hand asking opinions, you have to be forthright and not make us guess your facts before we give you any opinion. Having said that, and to add to wh...
