Re: Health insurance for Mother on LTVP

Glib tongue (or keyboard fingers). Sounds like a salesman to me. Always got a pat answer. You don't need to know the nitty-gritty to tell him if you are not planning on flogging your product.

Re: INVALID FORMAT DURING APPLYING PR

If you try to use a hyphen, parenthesis, equal sign, or any other of the non-alphanumeric characters on the keyboard, then you will get that message. Lot's of on-line databases are set up that way. (the on-line will not go. must use on line without the hyphen, etc. Only commas & full stops.

Re: Bring a BBQ?

Yes you can in some but you would need to check with the Condo Management committee before as not all will allow it as the smoke can tick off those who live above and beside you.

Re: Renouncing PR - Documents to submit

I'd keep my Singapore Driver's license as it was issued to me, not as a PR but as a bog standard 30-day tourist visa holder. :-D They don't do that anymore, though. But there were thousands of us here with them. I had a class 2,3 & 4 License and was also qualified for the class 5 as well but the...

Re: Risky Employment Contract Terms

At the rate the OP is going, he's going to talk himself out of a contract by overthinking things. Every expat that ever arrived on foreign soil can find something detrimental in their contract if they want to dwell on it. If he's not comfortable with it, just say no and stay home. Easy-peasy.

Do you think he has the ability to exercise free will under CCP's captivity? Wondering if he will appear on the radar later with a scripted apology :-k . http://thefederalist.com/2018/10/08/chinas-freaky-treatment-megastar-fan-bingbing-proves-communism-still-viciously-kicking/ I am afraid of the re...

From what I've been told, It shouldn't be a problem as long as he has adopted her legally Otherwise there is no legal relationship with her that would allow her to be his legal dependent here. I may be wrong and maybe somebody else here has some better information as I cannot provide a link to suppo...

Re: Prospect of getting PR

1st - virtually zero 2nd - not really 3rd - Volunteering? are you volunteering or trying to get voluntary brownie points by volunteering? If that is the case, then you are not volunteering at all, you are expecting a payoff in the end. And as soon as you get your PR that would be the end of it. ICS ...

Re: Applying for Singapore Citizenship

Do you own a home in your home country? I assume you do, based on your opening post. So, you are a PR correct and have been here for over 10 years. Then you are well aware of the fact that you are currently breaking the law in Singapore, right? You should know that is it against the law for a PR to ...
