Re: The Best Breakup Advice I got

I was playing with that about an hour ago and was on the same track. I found the dolly link in the Amazon link when I opened it up again. I then did a regular search on Amazon and of course it didn't have the tag in the address line. I figured that somehow she was getting a bene from it but damned i...

Re: The Donald ... Getting stuff Done!!!

I wholeheartedly agree. I think all handgun owners and any other firearm should have proper training before you can take possession of said weapon. I am against the banning of guns (including handguns) but I'm all for more stringent vetting before allowing someone to take possession of one.

Re: The Donald ... Getting stuff Done!!!

I don't think it would be an issue of more guns, but just less gun-free zones. Get rid of that and most idiots would think twice about using people inside gun-free zones as targets if they know somebody may well shoot back at them. Similar thing happened when they published the listing of gun owners...

At first read your post definitely smells like a advertisement, but after doing some checking, I'm going to let it stay. - moderator

Yes, I thought it was advertising as well and checked it over... and let it stay. Depends on what happens next, methinks.

Re: [ASKING] OIL are rejected during notice period

As you earn too much to be covered under The Employment Act, your only recourse is take the employer to civil court. Of course you will definitely need a lawyer in that case. I fear that the cost of the lawyer will completely eat up any overtime you are trying to recoup. But that is your decision.

Re: Employment pass issue delay - 6 weeks!

Again, you contract is only as permanent as your employment pass. If the MOM doesn't renew your EP/S/WP it doesn't mean squat what your employment contract says with the employer. All contracts in Singapore are only as valid as the length of the Employment Pass. If no renewal, job over. kaput, finis...

Re: Wigs for Thinning Hair/ Hair Loss

I've ever only heard of Toupee and I've been bald on top for over 40 years now. I've been a skinhead for the past 10 as I got tired of the friar tuck ring (or toilet seat ring) of hair.

Re: Employment pass issue delay - 6 weeks!

From an employers side it is usually one of two things, either lack of quota or a ban on hiring new foreigners due to some issue having been brought against the company that flaunted MOM rules with regard to foreign workers.

Re: LTVP Child of Singapore PR Non-Working Mother

Hi all, thanks a lot for the replies. I genuinely find Singapore so interesting how they determine who will become a PR so all of your comments are appreciated. To clarify, my husband came to Singapore for work a few years before we met. At that time, it was early 2000s and yes he could have and sh...

Re: singapore employment pass race question

Sounds like your HR or outsourced recruitment firm are a bunch of amateurs. However, if the did use both terms then you should be okay as while it is incorrect to use the term Work Pass (WP) as the (WP) actually stands for the term Work Permit which is what the construction workers making sub 1000 w...

Re: LTVP Child of Singapore PR Non-Working Mother

To answer your last question, if he IS from the sub-continent, and is in finance, it might be difficult to PR as the government is fully aware that those who are making that kind of money, follow the money. Therefore giving PR with the idea of eventual citizenship here (which is the reason for PR in...

Re: LTVP Child of Singapore PR Non-Working Mother

Why hasn't you husband applied for PR a long, long time ago? As long as he is only on an EP (I'm assuming) and you are not working, that's the reason why the child is not getting PR. You, as the PR, are technically the sponsor, but you are not working so how to sponsor? It's the protocols that are t...

Re: singapore employment pass race question

If you are initially from the subcontinent, or Sri Lanka, you will be generally thrown into the same pigeonhole as Indian. From your other post, I am bit concerned as you did seem to know a bit about the various acronyms used here, e.g., LTVP, DP, etc. However, you indicated that your potential empl...
