Re: PR Approval Probability 2021

You are correct in your assumption on #2....IF your spouse was already a PR or better yet an SGC. As far a applying again on you own, doubtful any success if application is before Oct 2022. And a lot can happen between now and then. If you jump the gun, you stand the chance of having to start the wa...

Re: PR Approval Probability 2021

Hello respected members, Can you please assess my chances? I had applied twice in 2016 and 2020 (when I was single). Major changes from last application 1. More investments in Singapore (via robo-advisor apps) 2. Will apply with spouse 3. Increase in base salary (6%) and assessable income (vesting ...

Re: Home-based business as an EP holder

EP holders are not allowed to operate any other business other than the company sponsoring the EP. You have to pass that hurdle before even thinking about anything else. Good way to get your EP cancelled and "Adiós" and "Vaya con Dios".

^^^^Long story, but this I know for fact even though the will was eventually changed long before it needed to be read.

Re: Chance of EP getting approved (have prev SG exp)

A DBS salary account is your account. if there is zero balance in a month or two once the money has dried up and cannot pay the $2 or $4 monthly fee, DBS will close the account anyway. Banking, aside from the government requiring salaries to be paid into bank accounts, is still a personal matter. Th...

Re: PR Application - Need help to pick right occupation for my role

And this is exactly why most HR managers don't even want to see cover letters and why you can no longer upload them with the application. Nothing but a BS story 99.99% of the time. [-X

Re: Family PR Formalities

It will definitely sent the wrong signals. This is becaused of the fact that one child is a male and will incur an NS obligation if getting PR. Too many people have tried to find ways around this inherited obligation and basically all they do is throw up potential minefields for the future of their ...

Re: Citizenship application rejected - appeal or not

Two suggestions. Find a way, because you are single, of increasing your salary. I'm guessing you are still living at your parents home. Or, marry an SGC. Please don't throw rocks at me. I just tell it like it is. As you are Chinese I don't have to remind you that this is a patriarchal society. Basic...

Re: PR Approval Probability 2021

You will have a better chance if you wait. This especially so, considering the low number in the "Other's" quota and near the end of the year. Obviously we don't know how many are in the queue ahead of you but I'm sure applications are time stamped in some format. But completion of any application w...

Re: Gas hob reviews requested

Our two smaller burners had flame issues until I cleaned out the tiny hole (maybe 2mm wide or less) in the middle of the burner under the plate using a needle — I learned that on YouTube and it fixed those, they are like new. Mal, I owe you a beer or maybe two. Worked like a champ. Now my helper wi...

Re: Gas hob reviews requested

I got one of the pin type tools for orifices with different widths. I'd forgotten about that (used during the stromberg rebuilds on my mini cooper many years ago. I remember seeing that somewhere recently. Will have to find it and give that a try. Tks for that.

My son take both of his and they are not small. Retired police sniffer yellow Lab & a 1 year old Malinois (Belgian Shepard). not an issue. Both are extremely well trained as you could imagine.

Re: Singapore citizenship approval chance

For PR purposes, he's only been here 3 years. Schooling years do not count. Still it should be enough. The only time schooling counts is if he applied during the period about 5~7 years ago when ICA would send letter to some of the foreign students of the major Sg Unis offering them a chance to apply...

Re: Gas hob reviews requested

Ariston normally provided two sets of orifices. One for each as MD mentions. I'm on my 2nd Aniston (it's now around 10 or 12 years old. The first one also lasted the same and I had to hunt all over Singapore to find the replacement as I wanted the same model stainless freestanding stove, for 5 burne...
