Re: PR Approval Probability 2021

Applying using Family Ties would be the best option at this juncture as you salary is a bit on the low side, but you are probably being gamed by the employer because you are working on an LoC so they know they have the upper hand. Us FT and go for it.

Kmart also didn't last long (was here about 25 years ago, from 1994 to 1996). I actually bought an original Iron Horse MTB from them for my 50th birthday just before they closed.

Re: Secondary School in Singapore

What is your definition of best-performing? What I mean is a school with a historic record in academic performance. I believe Mal answered your question in his first reply to your initial post before you modified your posts. As as noted, also by Mal, none of the International schools can compare wi...

Re: Renouncing PR to Avoid National Service

I think there is a lot going on behind that statement. Like the fact that the Father is a card carrying PAP member (who was approached at one point (I believe it was the run-up to the 2011 GE) to run for political office-he turned it down). The daughter was made PR, the mother continued to remain PR...

Re: Covid in Wales: Isolation for double-jabbed contacts to end

Is that double jab going to stop the Delta or Gamma variants? How do you know if you are talking to someone who is not vaccinated has which variant (if infected). This is going to be interesting.

Re: Is there a minimun stay required for an individual in an HDB?

Basically, it's to prevent short term rentals. There are furnished short term accommodations (service apartments) you can rent monthly and are licensed for short term lodgings (BnB technically is illegal in Sg). HDB requires minimum 6 month leases so as to prevent the use of HDB homes for transient ...

Re: PR Application queries

Hi, I am having the same query. The membership to societies. May I know what could be included in that? I make monthly contributions to charities and have registered as member/volunteer with them. Should I add those details? Societies? Only if they are relevant to your profession. Contributions to ...

Re: Renouncing PR to Avoid National Service

Not real sure on that one, MD, I think it would depend on if he already had been called up. If he was called up, then he would be classed as a deserter and there are penalties for that. However, he could kiss ever being employed here goodbye forever. Hell, my former boss' son, who I've written about...

SVP are not considered Resident visas, however LTVP & DP are. SVP by definition is a tourist visa.

Re: Entry to Sg by IPA holders

existing approved IPA. But ensure your IPA still has at least 15 days of validity from your arrival date, otherwise you need to get it extended. I stand corrected. The site and the OP's initial post caught off guard. I had to go read the site 3 more times before it made any sense. So yeah, ololo is...

Re: Migrating to Singapore as a doctor

My comment was directed to the fact that up to around 10 years ago, there was only one MBBS and that was from a HK university that "could" be recognized after passing the local exam at SMA or whoever sets out the exams. There are more today from what I understand but they still have to sit a SMA boa...

Re: Migrating to Singapore as a doctor

Up till about 10 years ago, there was only one Degree in Asia (MBBS) that was recognized by Singapore and that was from HK. What MOCHS said is absolutely true. Sad, but true.

Re: Delta putting a damper on things global

Delta varient seems to be putting a damper on resuming a new normal. Case counts and clusters here seem to mount each day even with an vaccination roll out. Not so sure August is going the way it's being planned. Do you think Singapore will still be phase 2 restrictions come September. USA seeing r...
