Re: Citizenship application rejected - appeal or not

Two suggestions. Find a way, because you are single, of increasing your salary. I'm guessing you are still living at your parents home. Or, marry an SGC. Please don't throw rocks at me. I just tell it like it is. As you are Chinese I don't have to remind you that this is a patriarchal society. Basic...

Re: PR Approval Probability 2021

You will have a better chance if you wait. This especially so, considering the low number in the "Other's" quota and near the end of the year. Obviously we don't know how many are in the queue ahead of you but I'm sure applications are time stamped in some format. But completion of any application w...

Re: Gas hob reviews requested

Our two smaller burners had flame issues until I cleaned out the tiny hole (maybe 2mm wide or less) in the middle of the burner under the plate using a needle — I learned that on YouTube and it fixed those, they are like new. Mal, I owe you a beer or maybe two. Worked like a champ. Now my helper wi...

Re: Gas hob reviews requested

I got one of the pin type tools for orifices with different widths. I'd forgotten about that (used during the stromberg rebuilds on my mini cooper many years ago. I remember seeing that somewhere recently. Will have to find it and give that a try. Tks for that.

My son take both of his and they are not small. Retired police sniffer yellow Lab & a 1 year old Malinois (Belgian Shepard). not an issue. Both are extremely well trained as you could imagine.

Re: Singapore citizenship approval chance

For PR purposes, he's only been here 3 years. Schooling years do not count. Still it should be enough. The only time schooling counts is if he applied during the period about 5~7 years ago when ICA would send letter to some of the foreign students of the major Sg Unis offering them a chance to apply...

Re: Gas hob reviews requested

Ariston normally provided two sets of orifices. One for each as MD mentions. I'm on my 2nd Aniston (it's now around 10 or 12 years old. The first one also lasted the same and I had to hunt all over Singapore to find the replacement as I wanted the same model stainless freestanding stove, for 5 burne...

Re: Changing job during EP application advise

Just remember, time are just an estimate and estimates fluctuate wildly. I know. I spent the last 25 years in HR and the last 15 as the HRM of a Mid-sized SME (225 staff). I've seen it all over the years. And yes, HRMs tend to talk among themselves, especially at see and be seen HR gatherings. And m...

Re: Changing job during EP application advise

It's the best way asap. Just have company A withdraw the application. No red flag. Better now than waiting till company A has the IPA in hand. Applying now is okay, BUT, then it is a gamble which application get the IPA first. if it's Coy B, no issue, but if it company A it might take awhile to get ...

Re: 'Re-instate' PR probability

Check my join date on this forum...... Oh my. Is that the norm - 2 years from initial rejection? sounds harsh. How did you know this? You can try. But be prepared for an initial rejection. If so, then wait the customary 2 years from the rejection. This is not engraved in stone, but by many years of ...

Re: PR Approval Probability 2021

All the time spend studying/schooling in Singapore means naught for PR applications unless it is dependent PR of your parents. Normally, you need to have 2 full years of employment (or three tax assessments-doesn't mean pay any taxes but having to file). The other problem is they fact that you are S...

Re: When to apply for citizenship

Only one application. That ensures that both will be seen in context by the same ICA officer instead of the possibility of two different officers see two different applications and one of the officers got up on the wrong side of bed because his/her spouse cut the other off. :-/

Re: 'Re-instate' PR probability

You can try. But be prepared for an initial rejection. If so, then wait the customary 2 years from the rejection. This is not engraved in stone, but by many years of anecdotal evidence. Obviously there are outliers in there but they are few and far between. You gave your PR up once. The government i...

Not sure about the other outer islands. St. John's & Kusu are pet friendly but I don't know if they are able to be unleashed there or not.

Re: Condo pool closing hours

There may be a legal reason for the closure times just like the time that construction must cease in the evenings. Pool users, unless you discriminate, can be anybody and that can mean raucous noise that will disturb the rest of the pool facing units.
