Re: Timeline of my husband's initial PMLA & LTVP, and subsequent renewal

Excellent post MOCHS! While the ability for 2 year LTVPs has been around for a while, it would seem that the are taking longer to vet for renewals but reducing their annual workload at the same time. Good to know. TYVM!

Re: Ex Singapore PR - Need to Serve NS??

Yep, it is true. Depending on your age, you will probably be called up, if for no other reason than to prove a point that they mean business. So better prepare yourself mentally ahead of time.

Re: Do expats here eat durians?

Nah, Usually one bite was enough to turn me off. I don't get that thing called gastric. I've always, since young, eaten most anything you put in front of me. I think my digestive system is pretty ironclad to be honest. You would understand if you saw me with chili padi when down in Indonesia (worked...

Re: Do expats here eat durians?

Tried them over the years, from the smelliest ones (supposedly with the best taste) to the not too smelly ones. I just don't like them. Smell doesn't bother me at all. Interestingly, I don't like Mangosteens either (cooling and usually an offset to the durian's heatiness). Guess I just don't like 'e...

Re: My bloody experience applying PR with a bloody agency (being rejected already)

Anecdotal evidence. And it tends to show somebody is desperate, thereby making ICA wonder. Just like make initial application 6 months after gaining employment. Yeah, it says your can, but unless you are a rocket scientist or neurosurgeon you can forget it. 2 years is usually the minimum time frame.

sonnabend, We cannot do anything about paid for advertising. They are not "sponsors" at all. They are legal advertisers, selling dubious products. But it not up to the hosts to judge their morals.

Re: LTVP application **PLS HELP**

Part of the questions asked by the Officer are logical in nature. 1st marriage (Yes) verifying legitimacy of marriage. Pregnant (would have been great but it doesn't signify a strong marriage if the marriage is because of the pregnancy or not). Do you have any kids (where are they, what are their ag...

Neither are needed nor wanted by ICA officers and if they do, they will send you an email requesting exactly what they want. Otherwise, only give them what they ask for so they don't have to spend time and getting aggravated having to sift through a ton of chaff just to find the wheat. Do not use a...

I've deleted over 100 of these posts from IN for GIIS. The only reason I left the initial post on this thread was because it was from a HK IP addy so I gave them the benefit of the doubt, knowing it would still give the spammers in IN & PK a breeding ground. I figured this way, it would also give l...

It will be just like the common flu. You buys your ticket (annual flu shot) or take your chances. The choice will ultimately be yours. And you will probably have to ultimately pay for those annual shots in the future as well, just like the rest of the world does.

Yeah, but in the past couple of years the government is like the weather. Wait half an hour and it will change.
