Re: Singapore Citizenship rejection

You must remember, above all other considerations, Singapore is pragmatic to a fault.

Re: Is SGD 7500 enough for a family of 3 per month?

It would appear that JeffV may not be what he/she claims to be. Both Lisa and I before her requested more info regard nationality or last place living and haven't gotten any response to either query. A check on his IP addy would indicate that it's coming from Sri Lanka and the email username is ind...

Re: PR Approval Probability 2021

All that says is that they do not require any additional documents at this time. Usually a result is pending, but it's a toss-up between approved & rejected. We seen just as many of one as the other. So actually the only reason that the submit button disappears is to keep you from sending them garba...

Re: Is SGD 7500 enough for a family of 3 per month?

Hi, I received a job offer from Singapore and thinking whether to accept it or not. The monthly salary is SGD 7500. If I accept the offer, I will be moving to SG with my wife and 1.5 years old baby, so there is a lot to consider specially childcare, child's education and accommodation. Do you think...

Re: PR approval chances 2022

Would you say once I reach my 40s there would be 'no point' applying for PR as a single because here is 'less chance' I will have a family/kids in Singapore? Though I think it would be quite sad to get rejected for PR even after working in SG for 10+ years... #-o You are in the right industry. The ...

Re: PR approval chances 2022

Race is your only real negative. Industry is good especially and picking up again now that covid is more or less peaked or at least considered endemic. But, I fear, you may have a reach to get there. Persistence is going to be your only asset, baring salary increase or more importantly, job promotio...

Re: Looking for advice on applying for jobs in SG as a foreigner

Does she know anybody who has done it in the past 2.5 years successfully? If you are SGC, then you are already quite familiar with the way the government uses work passes, PR and moveable goalposts here to accomplish what they want but do not reveal to the public. MOM rarely approves anybody from ou...

Re: Looking for advice on applying for jobs in SG as a foreigner

Why don't you just get married and then you can get an LTVP based on your local SO if (unsure of the pronoun to use) is SGC. :-k Other than that, you will be hard pressed to find a job here unless you have heaps of experience (e.g. 5~10 years in the industry you are trying to enter. Even then it's g...

Re: REP renewal eligibility

Not an issue. You cannot get an REP unless you have a job if your PR is PTS. This isn't a real issue except for the fact that you cannot leave Singapore without the REP else you are telling ICA at the immigration counter that you are giving up your PR. But you can theoretically stay in Singapore the...
