Re: going to default NS due to a change in plans

Well, the way I see it (and I've locked his posts so he cannot edit them) we know the government reads this site. MOM had us linked in their own site for several years and I've given advice personally to the MOM at their invitation via this site several years ago as well as being asked to sit in tel...

Re: Work options for foreign part-time student

You cannot get an employment pass of any sort for a part time job. In fact the only way a foreigner can work part time here is if they are a full time student in a government approved school. And, the hours allows to work are severely short.

Re: extension of IPA (PR approval letter)

Let me see if I understand this correctly. You are changing jobs and you want ICA to extend your finalization time for PR so you can take a vacation to go home? Why did you quit your current job? I would have thought, as would most, that one would have stayed put until after your PR was secured. If ...

Re: American Living Outside SG Applying for PR Through Wife's PR

OP, all is not lost. If your spouse is a PR, come here, get an LTVP or LTVP+ (as your spouse is a PR it will probably be an LTVP) if so, take it. It will probably be good for 12 months before it needs to be renewed. This will give you the right to exist here on a residential basis as opposed to a to...

Re: Renouncing Citizenship - 26 year old Canadian born in Singapore

Just wonder if your dad and yourself have Singapore identity card / holding Singapore passport . Sent from my SM-N910G using Tapatalk OP clearly stated his passport was never renewed (I assume it was a 5 year passport that he left the country with. Having said that, I'm pretty sure he doesn't have ...

Re: Renouncing Citizenship - 26 year old Canadian born in Singapore

It sounds like you were issued a Singapore Passport and probably exited using said passport. You will probably be able to get around it but you will need to contact the CMPB / Mindef and a lot of too'ing & fro'ing. But as you have never gotten an NRIC nor enjoyed any of the socio-economics benef...

Re: Information on Employment Pass (EP), Dependant Pass

Just hang in there. If the money is there, they are tightening up a bit on LoCs (primarily people with high pedigrees but accepting low salary admin jobs. So, they take a little bit longer, but you will probably eventually get it. MOM likes to play a waiting game I think, just to see how serious the...

Re: I want to stay in Singapore with my family!! :(

As squirrel noted, it was eons ago. Not so easy today. Squirrel has been here a long, long time as well. We've seen lot's of changes over that time. It used to be pretty easy, even for someone who only gets 30 days visa's normally. I used to do it as well back in the '80's & '90's when the rigs ...

Re: I want to stay in Singapore with my family!! :(

If you must know, I've had a good educational background here in Singapore, as most of the people here would like to call it as "elite schools" and I am retaking one subject for a levels because the course I want to try for is Law at Yale-nus and I didnt get straight As which was my goal....

Re: I want to stay in Singapore with my family!! :(

Squirrel, I managed to overlook that part of the original message. But the fact that she is now 21 kind of makes the fact that the mother's LTVP will still be secured by the younger sibling rather redundant as now the only way she can get a student visa is as a full time qualified tertiary instituti...
