Re: Got an offer, EP approved but employment will not commence

You just learned the hard way about joining body shops. Now go find a job on your own where you know what is happening or get plan B greased up and ready to take off back to Manila.

Re: Got my PR but Employer demand re-signing of new contract

Believe me, they will know what they are doing. No, it will probably not be adjusted again, as they will have already compensated in the new contract for that, or you might not get the increment you thought you would at the beginning of the third year. But I've not heard of that being done.

With the footie going on, wont it be a bit on the noisy side? Just asking....

Re: Special Gathering of Eagles

If nobody is adverse to craft beer, we could go back to the place in Rochester Park where we went when Mi Amigo was here a while back. It's quiet enough. But it is a bit of a pain to get into and out of short of hoofing it a fair distance. But I'm open to other suggestions as well, due to iffy knees.

Re: PR Pending

The date on the letter is not really relevant insomuch as it's just the date the computer generated it. It was maile in a batch mailing probably sever days later. Look at any letter your received from the government, it only take 2 days max (if they mail at the close of business) for you to get mail...

Re: Do you think I will be able to find a job?

Honestly, be prepared to be unemployed. Else stay in your home country. While a LoC (Letter of Consent) can be gotten, you will need to qualify for it and it can't look like you are taking a lowly administrative job that would be taking a job away from a local. It's not easy. If, when you say partne...

Re: Consultation on labor law

Do a google search for Arthur Khong who is both a lawyer and a former HR Mgr/Director for Keppel Energy. In 2013 he left to start his own consultancy and is the Principal Trainer of HR Law Academy. I've taken several of his topic-specific courses via my Payroll Provider, Sage. I continue to be on hi...

Re: Got my PR but Employer demand re-signing of new contract

Actually, you are partially right, the employer's contributons would be 17% until the beginning of the 3rd year, UNLESS both the employee and employer agree to pay you and deduct from you the full amount from the beginning of PR (which is entirely legal). Anyway, you will find that contracts here ar...

Re: Got my PR but Employer demand re-signing of new contract

You can sign a new contract or wait for them to fire you (and they WILL be able to find a reason, believe me). If you have only been there for 2 months you probably have 3 months probation anyway. So they can just say lack of corporate fit and you are outta there. Obviously, you should expect that a...

Re: Help me

He will have to go to the CPF board with the letter from ICA that he has given up his Permanent Residence. Then he will have to give the CPF board a Bank Account anywhere in the world to send the money to. They will transfer the money to that bank within, I think, according to one poster here, about...

Re: Visiting Singapore

SE, I'm not sure on your interpretation on the place where you will be staying as the owner clearly states he's not running a hotel but sharing his home. Maybe he doesn't know what he's talking about? :???:
