I had recently made my application, and i was told that its possibly to digitally sign the Annex A (with Wet Stamp), as long as you can produce the original for checking later

It is not needed. If they didnt ask for it, dont worry too much about it. If they need more info from you they will write in to you asking for it. Interesting that they are quite fluid/flexible in their PR approvals..
