Re: PR Application - Need help to pick right occupation for my role

Choose whichever is the closest, the letter of employment you submit is going to have your job title anyway.

Re: Timeline of my Wife's PMLA/LTVP

You applied PR too early IMO. Common consensus is to wait 2-3 years after marriage before applying or ICA sees it as a marriage of convenience. Could have used $100 to invest instead or save it. :P Though sms does say you buy your ticket and take the chances. Just don’t be too disappointed if reject...

Re: Family PR Formalities

Just email ICA to explain due to COVID & the kids schooling schedule, you do not want to disrupt their education and request to postpone the appointment to a period where it is more conducive for the whole family to come down to proceed with the formalities.

Re: Foreign Spouse first extension STVP or LTVP?

Hmm, they generally do not recommend any sedatives for pets when they fly because their vitals have to be closely monitored by the vet and no humans are allowed in the cargo hold. Even pet relocation companies do not recommend sedatives either. The cargo hold is temperature controlled though so they...

Re: Foreign Spouse first extension STVP or LTVP?

As long as the vet says the pet is healthy enough to fly and the pet has no other health conditions, the older age does not matter. My husband’s 8 year old cat made the 48h journey from US to SG. The distance between Thailand and SG is shorter and the journey will definitely be completed in less tha...

Re: Any recommendation for international mover

Majority of your posts so far are hardly constructive or worthy of a discussion. Mostly are consisting of “Congratulations”, “Well done” just to bump up your post count. You don’t even do your research for certain things and always reply with “Oh wow didn’t know” when the answers can be easily Googl...

Re: Foreign Spouse first extension STVP or LTVP?

I also relocated a cat too, you can PM me if you need advice when the time comes. LTVP approval timings seem to vary. First time I applied for my husband was approved in 2 weeks, first renewal took 1 month, second renewal took 1 week. Other people’s approval timings range from anywhere between 1 wee...

^ That too, 100%.

LF’s original post is akin to seeing McD everywhere and since it’s so common, it should be the best. :P

Re: Anyone applied for citizenship but is still pending? How long have you been waiting?

At my workplace, there’s a minority race attendant in his 50s who said his SC application has been pending for 3 years… I don’t know if it’s actually 2 years+ and he rounded it up to 3 years but if it’s really 3 years, that’s the longest I’ve heard so far.

Re: Foreign Spouse first extension STVP or LTVP?

Medical check up happens in the final steps of LTVP application, after you get in-principle approval, don’t worry about it for now.

Just concentrate on applying for LTVP the moment you are on SHN. The first step they will be mostly be looking at payslips, employment letter, marriage certificate.

Just because you see them everywhere (but haven’t used them?) doesn’t mean they’re good. The Google reviews say otherwise.

Re: Foreign Spouse first extension STVP or LTVP?

Both can actually be done at the same time… You can apply LTVP rightaway during your first day of SHN.

If LTVP still not approved close to the STVP expiration date, then apply for STVP extension. Follow ICA’s guidelines on how many days before expiration you should apply for extension.

Are you saying he was out of Singapore for the past 11 years and still got PR approved?

Was his wife in SG all these years and he visited her as a short term visitor or she went with him in whichever country he’s posted to?

Re: Do Spass holders need to inform employers on their marriage?

If OP got the LLE (letter of LTVP eligibility), I find it highly unlikely they married a WP holder…

I sense maybe their company probably has no work-life balance or not family friendly or something.

Re: Do Spass holders need to inform employers on their marriage?

Are people worried they would be terminated by the company for getting married or pregnant? If so, that is wrongful dismissal and a complaint can be lodged with MOM. And most companies have health insurance that cover dependents aka spouse and children. Why wouldn’t one want this? Even my foreigner ...
