Re: What affects chances of getting PR in Singapore?

It may be unacceptable but widely practiced. Try migrating to Japan or Saudi Arabia or China. The rules in those countries are about keeping non-indiginous people out, they are public knowledge too, so not really comparable. A better example would be the White Australia Policy which ended in the 70s.

Ok but what do you think of the person who dobbed them in?
You mean this? https://m.facebook.com/lectress/posts/10159682757758362

Seems reasonable to call out this kind of bad behaviour.

Re: What affects chances of getting PR in Singapore?

No I don't have a work permit, I'm on DP, and have not broken any laws (I hope). SPF = Singapore Police Force? SAF = Sexy As F **k? Seriously, why the personal attacks. The only point I'm making is that it's internationally unacceptable for a first world country to have racial quotas on immigration....

Good luck with that. You've been here what? 8 months give or take and still SAF.
I already played along with the "sorry you're wrong" game. Is it my turn to insult you with some made up facts now?

Re: What affects chances of getting PR in Singapore?

Again, why don't they just come out and say "this year we will accept x of this and y of that" and save everyone the trouble of trying to guess. Other countries like Australia and Canada are totally transparent about the quotas of skills, ages and educational qualifications they will accept. The onl...

Re: What affects chances of getting PR in Singapore?

In any other country the government would make the criteria clear and public. But if Singapore did that, since the primary factor is race, they would face an international backlash.

Re: Long forest hike in Singapore

Here's a rather insane route - 4 hours alongside a 12 ft security fence. It seems Singapore has enough emergency shelters for the entire population, and some good explosion testing facilities. GPS went crazy at some point, probably signal jamming.

Re: Long forest hike in Singapore

@PNGMK maybe next Saturday?

Here's another route I found, involves some nastily overgrown paths, but you get to see some mysterious government facilities that are blocked on satellite view in Google maps.

If you have no symptoms then do not wear a mask, IMHO.
Why? Infected people can be asymptomatic for up to 14 days during which time they can be contagious. Do you want them walking around without a mask, breathing freely on children and elderly?

Re: Masks supplied free by Sg. govt. are of unknown quality

That's a good article and video that everyone should watch.

It's confounding that anyone would not wear a mask. Is the reason that is looks uncool? Or it's uncomfortable?

Re: Please wear a mask when going out

This is becoming a climate change style debate, where for every "scientific" study proving one thing, another study can be found proving the opposite. The way I see it is: 1. Most benefit from wearing a mask is when an infected person wears one. 2. I don't think anyone claims that a mask increases r...
