Re: Hong Kong stocks plunged overnight
And as for trolling, a better example of that would be a man jumping onto a thread where ladies are discussing makeup, and saying it'll make them look like cadavers.

Re: Hong Kong stocks plunged overnight
And what's "overnight" mean? Without context, it means last night. The title says "Hong Kong stocks overnight". Not "some stocks crashed a few days ago". I just thought that some clarification was in order. Look, I know moderating this forum is a thankless and frustrating task, and perhaps you're ev...

It's not something the government wants widely reported. Nothing to see here folks, please resume your regular program of work, shop and eat.

Re: Hong Kong stocks plunged overnight
Thanks for another personal attack, sms. I've lost count of the times I've been called a troll by you. The subject of this thread is "Hong Kong stocks plunged overnight". Well, they didn't. So naturally the claim of a single stock dropping by 78% might be questionable. Anyway I checked and it's true...

Re: Hong Kong stocks plunged overnight
What company plunged 78%? The Hang Seng index was UP this morning.

Re: my helper seems to carry bugs
1 post asking for advice about bed bugs... yes that's a terrible post history.
Sorry if that's trolling but really, you make it too easy.

Yes it's probably bedbugs. No call for the moderator hostility IMHO.

Hong Kong elections: record turnout and landslide pro-democracy wins
Some numbers from the Hong Kong district elections today (the only way the general population can vote): Voter turnout was 71.2%, compared with 47% in the last elections in 2015. Pro-democracy (i.e. anti China) parties won 17 out of 18 district councils. Previously all councils were under pro-China ...

Re: Ethical ways to hire a helper
Thanks. The Indonesian helper we have in mind has to pay 1 month to the local agency and 2 months to her one back home. Frankly that's disgusting. Unfortunately we don't have her contact, but assuming we could get it, would she be in for trouble with her agencies if we hired her directly?

Ethical ways to hire a helper
It seems most maid agencies here charge a few months salary to the helper, plus 1k or so to the employer. I'm not ok with the helper paying anything and even less ok with an agency getting $2k or so for doing what exactly? Is it possible to hire directly without an agency? Or are there ethical, chea...
