Re: Where to buy standing rib roast?
There is one in Changi City Point which look fairly good.
There is also 'The Meat Club' where you can put in regular orders for delivery.
I have not tried any of these but came across them when looking at improving my diet a little while ago.

Re: NS Bond for kids (NS intended).
Yeah, seems strange. If you are paying then you should get the rebate. Seems Singapore just drops a wall if it goes against what they believe should be the way. Was chatting to my wife about cigarettes and vaping and how vaping was outright banned in SG even though, if properly regulated it could be...

Re: Singapore to the US.
Would anyone know if a Transferwise account would qualify for credit score (I suspect not) ?. Had a look at the AMEX cards and nothing jumps out as being particularly good compared to other offerings in SG (don't see ourselves using SGAirways too much). Don't live central so the dining etc percs are...

Re: NS Bond for kids (NS intended).
Nope it is an amount credited to you in your IRAS tax portal. Amount is outlined here . The IRAS automatically deduct any remaining on that tax year and the balance remains until the next assessment. It can also be back dated as we found out 3 years ago and got all our subsequent tax repaid to us. W...

Re: NS Bond for kids (NS intended).
They seem to have been suitably indoctrinated by the Singapore public education system... :( Their brother is finishing up his NS next year so they have seen someone else going through it (all be it with a cushy time) and their cousins, who they are pretty close to, will also be doing it around the ...

British Driving License conversion.
Hi All, Anyone had any issues converting an old UK paper (not photo) driving license to a SG license ?. When I first looked in to it the website specified photo licenses could be converted. Having just looked again recently, the photo requirement for the foreign license seems to have disappeared. Li...

Singapore to the US.
Whilst this is around the other way, there is clearly a wealth of knowledge here which I hope people would be willing to share. As some may know from my National Service thread, I am looking to relocate with my Singaporean family to the US for 5-6 years (I am British but the rest of the family inc t...

Re: NS Bond for kids (NS intended).
Thanks SMS. Just a quick update, Looks like if the move goes ahead (not certain yet) then we will probably relocate for 5-6 years and then move back to SG in time for my youngest boys medical and the following year my middle boy will kick off his national service. Hopefully this will mean only one b...

Re: NS Bond for kids (NS intended).
Thanks to both of you for your informative replies. @SMS: Not sure how BD's work but dont you need to either up-front the amount and the bank holds it or have some other significant collateral they can take if you default ?. We would be selling up and taking everything apart from my wifes CPF. My so...

I have got a few items from Taobao through one of my customers who orders on there every now and then. The items were branded (XSPC etc) and seemed to be genuine. Koolance do a 4 fan copper core rad (30 fpi) for US$75.99. The only issue I would have with chillers would be having to watch the dew poi...
