Re: PR Rejection

The 5 C's are relevant only, as far as i can tell, to pulling women.

Re: Digital front door lock

These work great but only with deadlocks. So if you have just standard unlock and pull handle type locks they don't work. The Yale version is actually a complete replacement of the lock and handle so can work with any door but is a hassle to install. They do work great though. You could add a smart ...

Re: PR Rejection

Yeah, it would, wouldn't it. Then you all would have to wait longer to see if you can game the system or not. Or if it would even be worth it to try to game the Gahment here. They are getting pretty smart. Oh, PR isn't just for 5 years. It's only the re-entry permit that is for 5 years. You can sta...

Re: PR rejection timeline

With so many applicants from india yours may well have just fallen outside the quota whereas your friend was within. It could just be the officer reviewing your application.

Which uni?

Salary?

Holding SGD currency means nothing. You can change it back to something else at any time.

Re: PR rejected. Got the "PR kiss of death"?

In my case it was new employer, won some awards, extra 4 years of residence under my belt (when I applied only had one year) and roughly a 50% increase in monthly base salary due to job change).....

Re: PR rejected. Got the "PR kiss of death"?

There is no such thing as the PR kiss of death. I initially got rejected with the same letter.....until three years later upon me was bestowed thy PR.

Citizenship by Naturalisation

So section 127 of the Constitution states as follows : Citizenship by naturalisation 127.—(1) Subject to clause (4), the Government may, upon application made by any person of or over the age of 21 years who is not a citizen of Singapore, grant a certificate of naturalisation to that person if the G...

Re: Police Reports

I've been involved with this from a complainant point of view. If a Police report has been filed against you, the officer working on the case will get in touch with you. You won't be able to call them and find out as sometimes they can't allow any tipping off of suspects. Cheers mate, so if someone...

Re: PR Rejection

PR is a stepping stone to citizenship. Accordingly the govt wants a cross section of people : nurses, waiters, teachers, IT etc etc. They can't all be high earning bankers. Chinese, Indians, Malaysians etc all likely to take up citizenship than those who just want to be here as glorified "expa...

Re: Contract Employment Lawyer

The statue takes precedence. If your contract was to hire you as an independent contractor then that would be a normal commercial contract and I'd agree with you. However, any contract of service (ie employment contract) can be terminated at will unless you're a protected worker (low paid). You're r...

Re: Contract Employment Lawyer

One of the reasons why employers like Singapore is that you can remove staff with its without reason. It's not like Europe here.

Re: Contract Employment Lawyer

Thanks for your replies. To clarify even further. This is not an entrenchment as the company is growing. The contract does not have any escape clauses for the employer, other than the typical performance based clauses which do not apply. Performance not an issue as all evaluations have been excelle...

My EP used to only be renewed for 2 years at a time. Then after 5 years of living in SG they made me a PR.
