Re: So which one of you tards got busted drinking at TAPS @ RQ

I guess it makes sense given the times, but does seem pretty harsh. I noticed one of the couples had been here for 14 years - children in local school etc. I think their REAL mistake here was to "settle down" in Singapore on an Employment Pass. Not a good strategy. As an EP holder, you're a company...

Re: So which one of you tards got busted drinking at TAPS @ RQ

It's best to see Singapore as the transactional entity it always was. People are here for one reason only: To trade and make money & both sides benefit. You break the contract, in this case the government's intention to avert a profoundly deep economic crisis, and you're out. It's just (a) business.

Re: Remove masks only when eating

Singapore is truly getting ridiculous.

Social distancing and reduced group size inside the restaurant will mitigate the unmasked risk.

Re: How long do you think COVID19 will last

Frankly, I'm assuming we won't find a vaccine, or at least an effective one. I actually think many governments already suspects this, however, they're just afraid to speculate out loud to avoid wide spread unrest. No good putting your life on hold waiting indefinitely. Better to assume we won't find...

Re: local community covid cases

Statistically, there seems more daily local community infections in work pass holders than SCs/SPRs. There seems to be also less SCs than PRs. ... Low No for LTVP (haven't seen any DP) may suggest one of the scenarios: (1) the majority of the mentioned work pass holders are of the type not allowing...

It will show you the latest entry that you check in
Yeah, I don't think the app supports nested check-ins.

Re: Scanning safe entry non-stop

So far I see that see entry is only to tell those who went to the same vicinity as infected patients to also be careful and note for any symptoms? Yep - so if you were in a Jurong West supermarket 14 days ago between 07:50-08:20, and you've been having raging COVID-19 symptoms for at least a week, ...

Re: Scanning safe entry non-stop

I suspect the main reason we're using SafeEntry is because that's the only "tracking related" tool the government could roll out almost instantly & country wide. Basically all it takes to work is to print a pdf QR code & put it on the door. It looks designed for work site access control and tracking...

Re: Need to queue to get into Orchard Road malls?

Honestly, large malls have become a complete downer - multiple levels of SafeEntry & temperature taking, lines in/out of the malls, lines in/out of specific stores, social distancing markings everywhere, safe distancing officers roaming, vast crowds in facemasks etc. I've basically stopped going unt...

Re: How's day 1 of opening the local economy?

I relied on online shopping long before the covid so can not comment on the malls but I clearly noticed a tremendous boost in No of, pardonne moi, idiots, on the roads. It was always bad, but now many people who stayed away from driving for 2 months are back on the roads swarming and surely this br...

Re: Phase 2 reopens on 19 June (Friday)

In a way, NZ may have painted themselves into a corner by eradicating the virus - if they intend to keep it at zero, they'll need to truly seal their borders right until a vaccine is found & delivered, which could take years. Even opening up to Australia seems risky. No NZ tourism or visitors until ...

Re: So which one of you tards got busted drinking at TAPS @ RQ

I can hear pitchforks being sharpened all over Singapore. Yeah, it's coming. Very visible targets & after all, we're guests here. As expats they sure as hell should have known better. ](*,) The authorities even thoughtfully separate the "true blues" from the foreigners (PR's, WP's etc) in the daily...

Re: What do you think it will look like when shops reopen?

hopefully masks will still be mandatory when phase 1/2 ends. My hope is for this damn virus to get eradicated locally altogether, so we can ditch all these soul sucking restrictions. :D (...and to be better prepared for the next aerosol transmitted pandemic, by keeping a supply of masks in the bomb...

but I cannot see any other logical reason for the extreme lockdown period and huge isolation camps they are building.
My thoughts exactly - total 12 weeks of lock-down, much longer than many countries in Europe.

Also SG's borders are easier to control than Europe's.
