Returning to the US after marrying an SG citizen

My spouse and I married earlier this year (registered in SG/ROM). In her past 3 vacations to the US pre-marriage, she entered the US using the ESTA/visa waiver scheme. Now, we are concerned that US immigration or CBP staff may try to deny her entry into the US, out of concern that she may try to ove...

Re: getting a job as newly married to Singaporean spouse - Letter of Consent

Could you elaborate a bit on not needing an LOC to get a job? Because I thought LOC was a requirement from MoM for LTVP-DP users. Or did you mean asking for employment via EP instead of LOC? You apply for jobs without a LOC. The LOC happens after you get the job and the employer arranges that. SMS'...

Re: getting a job as newly married to Singaporean spouse - Letter of Consent

A litle bit of mis-information methinks. You do NOT need a Letter of Consent to get a job here. You apply for the jobs that you are qualified for and deserved to be paid market for. What will happen, though, is you will not be offered Expat salaries or perks as the employer will know that you have ...

Re: Updating ICA during PR application

Hi, I applied through ePR, how do i update ICA if i change job? Hey, did you manage to find any more info about this? I need to update also and didn't see a method mentioned on their website (unless I totally missed it...) I would try to log in, but the wife has been super busy and hasn't had time ...

Re: Extending my stay in singapore while waiting for LTVP

My 90 day was extended by a week, so that I could be present for my own marriage ceremony and visit ROM to process paperwork.

Then another 30? day extension after that to submit LTVP application and wait for processing.

Re: Converting foreign driving licence for SG PR

I know people who converted their DL after 5-7 years in Singapore with no questions asked. Besides, the police is neither able to verify whether somebody drives occasionally abroad nor if s/he drove at all after passing the original test XXy earlier. This, even for converting the DL within the 12m ...

daytime chat in the sengkang area

Not sure if there's any interested people for a day time chat while my SO is at work. I can meet at any cafe/etc in the general Sengkang MRT area, and I'm open to talking about many things/topics. Sci-fi/fantasy/geeky stuff in general. Fitness (even though I'm fat). I'm also open to language exchang...

Re: RE: My murky employment situation

Option 1: does your OH qualify for applying a DP for you ? That helps smoothen things, sometimes. Option 2: go after Moh holdings, they need allied health personnel, provided you can substantiate your experience. Option 3: none that I can think of. 4. All jobs require with passes, including tutors,...

My murky employment situation

Hey all, So I've arrived not too long ago, and I would like to relocate here permanently to be with my better half ... but I can't do that as I came over without a job offer. So I'm in a bit of a pickle in regards to how to find any avenue of employment that offers a S or E Pass. Some more backgroun...

35M - re-visitor of Singapore

Not my first stay in SG. I'm from the US (east coast). Just dropped in at the end of Feb, and would like to fill in my down time to expand the social circle while my better half is at work. I worked in healthcare for a little while... and I have a variety of interests? Fantasy/scifi books, TV, gamin...

Mid-range housing options?

I apologize in advance for the newbie question. I'm still very much in the early stages of relocating. My SO is an SC, and I'm a US citizen. If we were to get our own place, what are the mid-range housing options to own an apartment/condo before I hopefully someday become a PR? HDB is not an option ...
