Re: Shop theft for 3rd time

Personally, I don't think it was desperation, but more like stupidity or she has a psychological disorder that is causing her compulsion to steal. It could be so. But then again, i am not her. I pity her for doing so. She wasnt aware that she can apply for social help. She thought that was only for...

PNGMK wrote:Why not? It shows;

1. Her husband can hire an FDW to support the kids while she is in prison.
2. Her husband can hire a lawyer to defend her in court.

IT does nothing to show that she should have stolen but might act in mitigation.
Got it thank you for your reply.

Re: Shop theft for 3rd time

I doubt they'll give her 5 mins of their time but if you CAN - at least see if you can get someone to agree to be with her and represent her in court. Thank you forr advice, it really helps. Will convey that to her. On a s...

She is only human. It was desperation that drove her to commit a crime and think irrationally

Re: Shop theft for 3rd time

OP - you could have found this all out with about 10 seconds in google. However for future ref: Only persons with a disposable income of not more than S$10,000 per year and a disposable capital of not more than S$10,000 may be granted legal aid. You may utilise the Means Test indicator to see if yo...

Re: Shop theft for 3rd time

I'm pretty certain she will go to court and possibly go to prison. It's possible the MCYS or similar will take the child into state custody if she or her husband is unable to provide for the child; she could try to prevent this by having a relative or friend take custody (guardianship) of the child...
