Re: Uber or Grab?

Therefore, if you ever meet such drivers the next time you book Grab, insist that they cancel through their device. That's good to know, thanks for posting (not that I travel with Grab anyway... I still have that $5 credit for my driver picking up someone else and ignoring my frantic waving/phone c...

Re: Singapore in Danger of Severe Economic Downturn?

They seem to prefer their malls.
Well, there seems to be this fascination with Qoo10, though I can't really understand why other than the price ( I mean, we could be buying fakes, grey imports with no warranties and recourse, etc. etc.!)

Which goes back to the problem about empty malls...

Re: South China Sea ruling .....

South China Sea has the word "China" in it, therefore the sea belongs to China.
It's... hard... to argue against that! ](*,)

Re: Brita water filter for jug? Where can I but it? Please help!

Homefix next to most cold storage/in most malls sell them If anyone's still looking, thought I'd provide an update. Went to Homefix, now they only sell the old classic filter for older jugs. But I managed to find the current Maxtra cartridges next door at Tangs, at the basement level, where I've be...

Re: Taxi or private car for daily booking

I know this is an old thread, but for anyone else looking (or in case you are still looking)... Uber is perfect for this, especially if your teen has a smartphone. Put Uber on their phone, link it to your credit card. They can arrange their own rides as needed and no cash is ever exchanged. I know ...

Re: GP/Family Doctor/Clinic Recommendation

the clinic assistant will then tell the dr (you'll have to wait until the current patient in the consultation room leaves) and then the dr will remove it from the records and the assistant will then proceed to change your bill. Usually the GP will tell me up front what he's giving me (or I will ask...

Re: GP/Family Doctor/Clinic Recommendation

Ideally around either Novena or City Hall area Generally, I find Raffles Medical clinics to be pretty ok. They do prescribe a range of medication that is needed (so you don't have to keep going back if something doesn't work), but you can always ask them whether any of them are unnecessary. I've be...

Re: Uber or Grab?

Tried Grab twice, both times failed me miserably. First, driver cancelled, which was upsetting since I waited 10 mins for him (since I booked him!) instead of hopping into a couple of other cabs that dropped passengers in front of me. During peak hour. Second, the cabbie actually picked up some othe...

or its way to expensive and that puts men off but somehow that doesn't put women off 8-[
Really?

I always thought "A man will gladly pay double the price for what he needs, a woman will happily pay half the price for what she doesn't".

Re: Random thoughts thread

why do malls here have such a lopsided ratio of shops for women:men? its almost 7:3 um, because shops would go bust if they catered to men? It's women who keep the economy going! We understand things like Sale, fashion, retail therapy, putting together a look, re-decorating, and did I mention Sale?...

Husband's GP recommended to try Regaine ( http://www.mims.com/singapore/drug/info/regaine ), with a small chance of hair-growth, and a larger chance of slowing hair-loss.
