Re: MATH TUTOR NEEDED - 11yr old 6th grader

Got it. Thanks for the response, and information. It makes total sense. So, I'd guess there's a way for me to stop receiving notifications on this post (as I no longer need s tutor). I'll search for it in my settings later. Thanks again for your response.

Moderator- is there a way to delete this post? I'd like it taken down. Thanks. Can the original poster delete their own posts? I can't seem to find the "delete" anywhere.

Apparently I've become some sort of authority now on this subject.. haha. It's what you do when you study up for the BTT. :D

Re: License Conversion - Penalties for Allowing to lapse

I wonder though, I had got my license converted in 2010. The expiry date of the converted SG license was 5 years. Now 5 yrs are up. Not that I intend to ride, as I gave up riding my motorcycle 2 years ago. I wonder if I can renew my license? Why did you have it granted for 5y only? License conversi...

Re: License Conversion - Penalties for Allowing to lapse

Yes OP - just go take the BTT and line up and pay for the conversion. The clerk will not even look carefully at your USA DL. Both my wife and I did this at around the 15 month mark and no issues whatsoever. I know of a few friends who've converted after 12 mos as well. Literally never heard of anyo...

Re: RE: Re: License Conversion - Penalties for Allowing to lapse

PNGMK - Glad things worked out for you after that accident! I'm guessing you were a bit concerned at the time! I have to ask because I have always wondered (and, I am a former LEO from the US) were you placed in cuffs and into the back of a car? ;) . Seeing people getting hand cuffed is rare in Sin...

Re: License Conversion - Penalties for Allowing to lapse

To get back on track to the original post, my question was specific to penalties one might incur if you do not convert before the 12 month mark and you're for whatever reason contacted by traffic police (pulled over, accident, etc..). My question was sparked by other expats and their "offhand" attit...

Re: License Conversion - Penalties for Allowing to lapse

Wow, that's incredible. I wonder what the % of expats who are here are driving, knowingly, with what SG considers an invalid license? Every time I would make an effort to head to the driving centre to schedule the BTT (which honestly was 2 seperate occasions), I would be called back out for travel. ...

Re: License Conversion - Penalties for Allowing to lapse

The "BS" was directed more to someone else who felt compelled to assume why I haven't gone for my BTT. Quite immature frankly. I don't feel I need to provide any explanation as to why my 12 months has lapsed. But, if you'd like to know I can certainly explain! I appreciate the "friendly warning". Th...

Re: License Conversion - Penalties for Allowing to lapse

Thanks for the lectures. Wasn't really what I needed. I had already stated I am not driving so spare me your BS. I also indicated I am in the process of converting. I also wasn't looking for sympathy. So quick to make assumptions of my circumstances!

Re: License Conversion - Penalties for Allowing to lapse

That's a substantial penalty I'd say! In the US, you receive a small fine. States differ, but mostly you receive a fine. It's hard to imagine you could receive such a stiff fine and potential jail time when you already possess a recognized license from another country and some leniency wouldn't be o...

Re: License Conversion - Penalties for Allowing to lapse

I'm not currently driving as I'm in the process of obtaining the conversion license. I guess I should have been more specific.
