Re: Where to buy rockwool/stonewool/any other sound absorption material?

Almost none of the places I found on Google had Rockwool. However I went in an industrial park in Ang Mo Kio packed with small construction material places and I found some there.

I have never handled Rockwool myself but I have someone with expertise who will do it for me.

Thanks.

Re: Where to buy rockwool/stonewool/any other sound absorption material?

Zillions of places around. Enough to google and call them. Well I don't need zillions, just one would work for me. The reason I made this post in the first place is because I did just what you suggest and I couldn't find any. I tried SunHee Hardware Paint & Electrical, Horme Hardware, HardwareOnlin...

Where to buy rockwool/stonewool/any other sound absorption material?

Hi, I'm looking for rockwool or stonewool, or any of the stuff that is usually used to insulate and soundproof an interior room. That's no surprise given the climate here, rockwool seems to be impossible to find (at least at the hardware sores I've been to). Any idea where I can get that? What do th...

Re: Which legal status for what professional activity?

Ok I have contacted ACRA and MoM but didn't get a lot more information for now. I have also contacted a consulting company and here is what they told me: Recently the MoM has stopped granting LoCs to SP owners, including those who are already in business and had previously got their LoC for exactly ...

Re: Which legal status for what professional activity?

Thank you for your time. I have already contacted ACRA and MoM and will go forward according to what they answer is. What you said matches what I could read on the ACRA site, I don't know why so many of the expats told me it wasn't possible to start a SP without partnering, some of them event told m...

Re: Which legal status for what professional activity?

Thank you, you are confirming what I thought, that a SP with a local partner is the only viable solution. Do you know wher/how I can get answers to my questions about the partner? I can't find anything about that on the ACRA or MoM web sites. I already have someone I'm considering sas a partner but ...

Which legal status for what professional activity?

Hello, I have read about doing business in Singapore on various web sites and on this forum, but I am still confused about what to do in my particular case. I'm on a DP and have about 14 months left in Singapore (might be extended). I have never worked in Singapore but I now have an opportunity to s...

Fair enough, thank you.

BTW I'm a male, my wife holds the EP... Not sure if this makes things easier or not.

Part-time job on DP

Hi, I'm on a DP and mostly taking care of 3 children at home. Although we don't have an urgent need for an additional salary, I am considering working part-time if I can find such an opportunity. I have been quite disconnected from the business world this last year so I don't know where to start, if...

Hi,

I'm a musician in Singapore too. If you haven't been there yet, you definitely should check SOFT forums.

Re: Need advice on dehumidifiers

Thanks. Currently I leave the A/C on in the music room permanently, because the room is in the basement and it feels very humid. I will get a hygrometer to see how much it really is. The room is really small (about 8 m²) so a small dehumidifier should be ok, I prefer to have a small and quiet device...

Need advice on dehumidifiers

Hi all, I arrived in Singapore recently and I have a music room with home studio gear and various instruments, including 2 acoustic guitars. I am thinking of buying a dehumidifier for this small room (about 8 m²) and leave it on permanently (will be switched off when recording because of background ...

Re: Epipens

Hi,

My 11-year old had an anaphylactic shock during the first days upon our arrival in Singapore. He was treated by an allergy specialist at the NUH, who gave us an Epipen. I can give you the Doctor's name if you need it.

Re: Leasing a car for $1800 + GST

The budget I have been given is $1800 + GST ($1926 inc I guess) Hi, so what did you find in the end? Just wondering because we are coming in Singapore in 2 weeks and I am currently getting quotations from car lease companies with similar budget and needs (MPV or SUV around $1700). What car did you ...
