the above "TXinSingapore" has some sound advice and you would do well to take heed. I have been here 3 years and I find many of my friends panic when they get here and can't find the exact brand or item they are used to. Well, you are moving to Singapore, it is an Asian Country .... why would everyt...

I have been here 3 years .... I brought over some of the furniture, but with hindsight realise I should have left it behind as most apartments are fully furnished . The LL get a better tax free rate if they lease with furniture. If it is unfurnished, there is always a fridge and washer. Thats what t...

Our do...

( first off, thanx to the moderator for the above) Some house sitters - not all - are qualified to give injections and medication. Some are nurses and I had one a few years ago that was actually a vet traveling around! Check out the websites and read each (appropriate) sitters profile. They will say...

......... if you are going to Batam from the Tanah Merah Terminal ..... then book the ferry ASAP.

When I was booking yesterday (Tuesday) the earliest ferry I could get on was at 1.00pm. All others were already booked.

I never go to Batam Centre from Harbour Front, so don't know the situation there.

anyone need a pet / house sitter for June 2009 ?

I have a house sitter booked for the first weekend in June, but she would like to spend more time in Singapore.

Anyone need a holiday around that time and would like a house sitter for a few days or maybe even a week?

Heard recently that TANGS in Orchard Rd have them.

I brought mine over with me but within 6 mths (being out on the balcony most of the time) the insides rusted out.

Going to try and manage without one.

a friend of mine just contacted me to let me know of this posting..... we use house sitters all the time and have done so for the past 10 years. Best way for all concerned. At no cost to you, house sitters come in and take care of your animals and home while you are away! In particular the animals a...

There are a lot of positives AND negatives with having dogs in Singapore .... somethings will depend on where you are coming from, in regards length of time in quarantine - if at all. the length of the flight, if they will be over stressed etc. We brought two small dogs with us to Singapore (from Me...

You maybe right Maneo ......

being a bit far from the 'city'....... all up 30 mins by train...... but the much cheaper rents we pay out west are in our favor!!

Certainly could not afford to live any closer in - even if we wanted to. :)

enjoy your weekend!

You are right "road.not.taken" with regards some of the furnishings in the apartments ...... have seen photos and a lot of them really are quite dreadful. One for rent in the same condo as we are, with a bright green velvet sofa. We are very lucky as our LL did furnish ours quite reasonably. ...

Thanks for the reply guys. We are pretty much packing all by ourselves; we don't have any furniture to bring so they are pretty much clothes, books, etc. I reckon we'll just need someone to pick up the boxes and ship them through. Books are a great idea as you will find they can be very expensive h...
