Re: House Prices could drop by a Quarter?

JR8, what' s wrong with aspiring to be a house owner instead of paying the mortgage on someone else's house for them? Why is it a lie? Are you suggesting that young people should just accept the fact that they can't achieve what the landlords who rent them their properties have achieved? Totally wit...

Re: Considering the jump....

Sounds like you've got it all in hand, so long may that continue! :) As to the money, they were offering a bit more and there's a bonus which could have made it tick (just!) - but as it's a discretionary bonus, I just couldn't factor it in. Keep us all updated, as it'd be nice to hear how your doing...

Re: Considering the jump....

Congrats Benji. I have just (last week) turned down my firm's offer as, once I did the sums in detail (using here, some other forums, Expatistan, Numbeo, Singapore Transit cost calculator, various International Schools and some SG property sites) it confirmed that my instinct was right; once you add...

Haha. So x9200 is a chemist? I bow to your superior knowledge, my liege.

I'd still avoid injecting a toxin for vanity purposes, though.

Re: Botox injection, bad experience

That's all well and good, but it's a pretty potent toxin (more so than others toxins that humans have a predilection for, like alcohol) and one that is claimed to have caused several deaths. Looks harmless! http://cbsnews1.cbsistatic.com/hub/i/r/2015/04/14/a8c233d8-541a-48d5-aa24-cfea027910f8/thumbn...

Re: Botox injection, bad experience

Botox is made from botulinum and has it's roots in weapons research. No way would I inject that into my tissues.

Re: Need Advise: My daughter did'nt get a slot on the local primary school

That's a interesting point as many companies (mine included, it seems) don't want to pay "expat" packages and more are coming on foreign worker deals with little extra benefits (and not wholly sufficient wage packets), integration would be the way to go - however I could see that SCs would be annoye...

Re: UPDATES to Win 7 & 8.1 enhances data collection!

Yeah, my offence at this, is that Windows 10 is free and we all know buyer-beware (if major software company's software is given away free, *your data* are usually the price that you pay), but Windows 7 and 8 were paid for, so as far as I can see this is a big frickin' liberty that they're taking. A...
