Language School/Course for Bahasa Indonesian?

Hi all Hope this is the most appropriate forum area, there is a 'Language Swap' but they were all from people wanting to swap their language for another. Admin, feel free to move if appropriate, thanks! Anyway, Australian guy here wanting to learn Bahasa Indonesian. Was wondering if anyone had recom...

Re: Open a Sole Proprietorship on a DP and getting the LoC

Better news for me. After reapplying under the sole proprietorship, showing the company I initially registered is now deregistered, I can happy say I nearly pooed my pants when I checked online that the status for my recent Letter of Consent application is now ' ISSUED '. Lets hope it opens up great...

Re: Open a Sole Proprietorship on a DP and getting the LoC

I have received a response from MOM. From what they have said the reason for rejection this second time was due to the fact that they saw I still had the company incorporated as well. They have said I can apply for consideration of appeal if I show an ACRA business profile that I am no longer a dire...

Re: Open a Sole Proprietorship on a DP and getting the LoC

I understand exactly where you are coming from, but I was hoping an experienced IT Professional with 20 yrs experience might be encouraged. As previously mentioned, anyone can get an IT Diploma and call themselves an IT Specialist, buts its a lot harder to show 20 yrs of experience and the knowledge...

Re: Open a Sole Proprietorship on a DP and getting the LoC

I was thinking that, BUT are you saying everyone in this thread that has been approved has started a business that is unique or where there is a shortage of manpower? I very much doubt it to be honest, so to be fair, MOM should be consistent with all applications.

Re: Open a Sole Proprietorship on a DP and getting the LoC

Well as we know my company LOC was rejected (ie, it wasn't even accepted as a application), so I set up a sole proprietorship and have done the same, using the knowledge on this forum and what do you know....REJECTED AGAIN! That is via the employment pass check online. Will await formal notification...

Re: Open a Sole Proprietorship on a DP and getting the LoC

Mobile IT repairs/consultancy. Here in Singapore, no idea of expected revenue to tell the truth. Just hope to bring in a wage. I received an email this morning that I was unsuccessful: We have considered your request but it is unsuccessful. The correct pass for foreigners looking to start new busine...

Re: Open a Sole Proprietorship on a DP and getting the LoC

Thanks, so it looks like my application won't be approved. It might be easier just to deregister the company straight away, put it down to experience and register as a sole proprietor rather than try and get EP for a one man band outfit. However, you never know, there is a tiny chance they may appro...

Re: Open a Sole Proprietorship on a DP and getting the LoC

Oh dear, I don't know if I've done the wrong thing here. Rather than register a sole proprietor business I have incorporated a private limited company. I emailed MOM to get those forms to apply manually for the LOC, which were forthcoming, then I notice she mentioned 'sole proprietor' in the email a...

Re: Open a Sole Proprietorship on a DP and getting the LoC

Scott (smorris291), how did you go? Did you email for the forms as Max suggested? I have just incorporated a company (which was quite easy with basic company knowledge) and being on DP wish to apply for my LOC to 'employ' myself. I could log in via the MOM EP online system but once logged in it did ...

Re: Has anyone learnt to ride here? What training school?

Thanks for that. Yes, I'm aware of the procedure and what schools are available, was hoping to get some feedback on those schools/instructors, although I'm assuming they all follow a similar syllabus so probably isn't much between them, but never hurts to ask :) I think the length of time is great, ...

Has anyone learnt to ride here? What training school?

Hi all

Wondering if any of you expats have learnt to ride a motorcycle here?

What riding school did you use and were you happy with the school and the instructors?

Thanks.

Re: Moving to SG with a pet dog (Beagle)

We recently came over with 2 cross breed dogs, 6kg (12yrs old) and 11kg (2yrs old). We used 'Jet Pets' in Australia to do all the paperwork, picking up, delivering here (using Mitchville on the Singapore end). We were worried as hell but they arrived in good shape (hot, tired and a little anxious th...
