Re: the end of a long journey from student > EP > PR > SC
I think there's a difference between complaining (this sucks and I shall do nothing but point out that it sucks) and feedback with the intent to improve experiences (which I already sent through to PMO / NIC). Nothing wrong with improving if there's room too. But thanks for the tip re: chrome! As of...

I'm happy with it either way - been here long enough for this to be home.
Although the fact that the SG Journey e learning can only be completed on internet explorer and doesn't work on
* apple computers
* tablets
* mobile phones
is giving me physical pain.

the end of a long journey from student > EP > PR > SC
It's been a while! Dropping in to say I just got my in principle SC approval today. It's been quite the journey, from two rejections, being laughed at here for being a blood donor, becoming a PR, buying a home, producing a very Singaporean baby boy and now finally approval. Thanks everyone who helpe...

Re: PR Application Chance for Fiance
Hello All, Wanted to seek your advice on the chances of my fiance's PR application. We are getting married in a couple of months and we are planning to submit an application immediately after marriage as we are looking forward to buy a new BTO near my parent's place. I am the guy, Singaporean citiz...

Re: 3rd Application for PR APPROVED
This is off topic a bit but there is really too much cynicism towards volunteering in this forum. Maybe it doesn't help, but it also doesn't hurt. If one is a volunteer simply to check a box on a get-PR-quick-checklist then honestly, stop. You'll do so anyway if you eventually get your PR I know gu...

Re: Foreign born son, both parents SC.. NS dilemma
It's really not an easy decision for you and your family, and definitely not one to be taken lightly. It'll be helpful for you and wife to think 10-20 years in the future, or when your son is your age, what might be the best outcome. Ultimately this differs for every family and individual so we can'...

Re: Foreign born son, both parents SC.. NS dilemma
OK fair enough. OP seemed to suggest focus is getting SPR if possible, hence my discussion focusing on beyond EP. I see your point.

Re: Foreign born son, both parents SC.. NS dilemma
there seem to be a few clear cut options: [*] all of you be AUS Citizens - parents give up any ties to SG [*] Son becomes AU Citizen - minimal impact on travel to anywhere except SG. Chance of becoming SC ever = approx. 0%. [*] Son becomes SC - serves NS here with no real 'feelings' for Singapore, ...

Re: Wish to Apply for SPR
As heartless as it sounds, ICA doesn't really care if one was educated here. Sometimes, even getting the invite doesn't help. I have been here since Sec 3. Went through top 3 Sec Sch > top JC (invite letter after A Levels)> NUS > earning in 90th percentile for my age group > specialised skills job i...
