Airlines banned from landing in Singapore

The EU has a list of airlines banned from landing in the continent which includes airlines like Aerojet and Siem Reap Airways and others which do not meet international airline safety standards.

I was wondering if Singapore has any similar restrictions and if so, which airlines?

onetheless for OP case it is better for hubby to declare the tax here so as to smoothen the LTVSP pass application. I stand to be corrected on this as I have been doing this for ages. If you are being paid here either on overseas contract or local while living or working here, you will have to decl...

Thank you all :) Mad Scientist: 1. We've only been married a year. 2. I'm self-employed so I would have to state an annual income of about 40K. No joint savings account as I think it would be easier if he at least had a long-term pass before applying with me. He offered to show proof of tax returns ...

Is freelance considered working on a social visit?

Hi all, I'm a local whose husband is Italian. We have tried to get a 1 year visit pass for him but no such luck, as applications are on a "case by case" basis as they do not trust women to be able to act as sponsors for their husbands, despite the fact that all the documents they ask for are the sam...

Are their prices reasonable? I'm thinking of trying them out.

doggies!

Hi Jordya, First of all, welcome in advance to Singapore. ;) As pointed out by road.not.taken, Singapore isn't too dog-friendly, but you'd find that there are still quite a few places you could bring your dog along to. Most eating establishments don't have a stated rule about dogs so you'll have to ...

Re: BMI

SIA looks at Body Mass Index (BMI). Meaning your height should be propotinate to your weight or vice versa. For health reasons that would be understandable. But I think people here are more concern about how they look? Some people can be very heavy but they look slimmer than those who weight less t...

I think those two are the must-ask questions, yet they're pretty difficult to answer.

Thank you for the information!

It is an aviation requirement depending on the region for the height issue. The carrier will have issue with airline safety authorities if it accepts candidates who do not fit the height requirement. You should post this on the main SIA thread, then people might quit asking WHY WHY WHY is the heigh...

Just a question, if after sending in your application by snail mail they invite you for the walk-in interview, what difference does it make?

Re: SIA Cabin Crew.....advice from a SIA Veteran of 35 years

SIA has to recruit at least 1,000 cabin crew in the next 1 years ) Says who? Exactly. Even if that were so, look at the numbers who apply each year! Unlike Emirates, they do not have a block period during which previous applicants may not apply after a failed application, or like Silkair which usua...
