Re: Entry rejected at Changi airport while holding a approved entry visa

I am not saying that it doesnt exist. But I do have reservations using the word 'abuse'. It seems there are different rules which probably only ICA is aware. So we all can guess why and not to jump on conclusions.

Re: Entry rejected at Changi airport while holding a approved entry visa

This is certainly something which i haven't heard before. I have seen people staying here more than 6 months in a year with visa free status (couple months, then a week out and return) as recently as last year. So I don't think OP is intentionally 'abusing' the system. I dont even use the word abuse...

Re: ST says "Higher salary bar for foreigners seeking family visas"

We've got a population with an entitlement complex and workers who want to be managers, and by "manager" they mean they want to hand work off to someone else, so you end up with a giant circle jerk of everyone trying to hand off everything to everyone else. This is the real challenge. In ...

Re: HSBC Nets

Monthly charges, debit card charges, and what not charges in Indian banking system hides the costs we are paying. Singapore, the ATM is treated as 'asset' or differentiation. i.e. more atms for local banks. For India one good thing they did is not to treat atm as differentiators but stop wasting mon...

Re: Nominal Job plus Visa

I do not have the current information but couple of years ago one of my acquaintance (ex banking) moved to SG from UK to teach at SMU. Probably teaching on an adhoc basis may not be a bad idea given your solid experience. 2C.

Re: renew PR under spouse scheme

Guess that should but there are plenty of cases (or rather abuse) where ICA denied the renewal. Similar profile, high income, growth potential but declined the renewal. So my guess as as best as the examples shared here in the forum or info we hear. Could be totally wrong but i dont think anyone nee...

Re: renew PR under spouse scheme

Assuming all other aspects are in line with ICA preferred list, the practice seems 1 year REP. After 1 year the REP will be given at normal duration (or 2 years).
There is pretty high chance to get it denied if the person stayed out of SG for most of the time (not work related)

Re: Thoughts on PR Chances

Sadly, I think that's what they call collateral baggage that I didn't bargain for. Indian ethics gone horribly wrong. It's supposed to be the eldest son who gets stuck with the parents, not the Son-in-Law! Probably because you're such a sweetie pie. +1 Son-in-law can be considered as the elder son ...

Re: renew PR under spouse scheme

Do you have plans to move to SG? If yes, you can apply and see. If not, let the REP expire. What difference does it make?

Re: Looking for EZ Link Card Reader

Doubt this can be found. May be a slim chance from ebay or some other 2nd hand sites. Another option is to use a NFC enabled android phone.
Guess most people are using auto topup these days
