Re: Safe entry Singapore?

Yeah I noticed one on the park connector I use to walk to the shops, don't see anyone actually using it. The really stupid thing is the Safe Entry code is at the entry to a 4-5 metre wide foot/cycle path between HDB blocks and a drainage channel, other side of the drainage channel is a parallel foot...

Re: Covid-19: Are we sampling to determine infection rates?

From the quoted article: "It was unclear just how telling the preliminary data was, as Mr. Cuomo acknowledged. And the accuracy of the antibody testing available in the United States in general has been called into question." To test if someone has been infected and recovered, assuming they had not ...

Re: Please wear a mask when going out

There are two concerns about wearing masks that I've seen in various articles on UK and NZ news sources: 1. They can be uncomfortable and may lead to people touching their face more often which increases infection chances 2. Some people are assuming that because they are wearing a mask they are safe...

Re: Health Certificate (COVID-19) Thailand; GP can issue?

You're expecting statements from the Thai government to make sense? This is the same government that has a junior minister who was convicted and served jail time for importing heroin into Australia yet this does not disqualify him from being an MP as "The reference to a court order from another coun...

Re: Thailand (Phuket); Visa on Arrival stopped?

You and everyone else, Thailand seems to change their mind and the rules twice a day. As far as I can tell the Visa on Arrival changes only applied to 21 countries where you had to go to the VoA counter in the airport on arrival. However according to this: https://www.bangkokpost.com/learning/easy/1...

Re: Traveller note: COVID 19 : Stay home notice for All travellers travelling from ASEAN, Japan, UK, Switzerland

so ....... if Sg airport is shut (+ferry) then you become over-stayer ? I'm guessing if that happens the govt. will need to do some sort of temporary visa extensions, they're talking about the same in Thailand at the moment https://www.bangkokpost.com/learning/easy/1882100/tourism-minister-wants-to...

If you have to collect your bags then yes. Doing a quick google brings up this: https://thepointsguy.com/2016/03/5-things-to-know-before-flying-low-cost-carriers-in-asia and this: https://www.tripadvisor.com.sg/ShowTopic-g294262-i1747-k12278748-Connecting_from_Korean_Air_to_AirAsia_in_Changi_airport...

Re: "Transit Area [Changi]"; meaning (COVID-19)?

If they don't pass through immigration then they should not get hit by the Singapore restrictions so as long as the tourist can go directly to T1 without passing through immigration they will be OK. If they have to go pick up their checked baggage and check back in for the second flight then they wi...

Re: Translation needed

Go to google translate and select Russian as the language to translate. In the bottom center of the translation screen there is a little drop down arrow that will let you select a Russian keyboard you can then type in the characters you see. If you have google translate on your phone you can also se...

Re: Changi airport

There is a baggage storage place in Jewel (level 1) so if you can't check it through you can store it there until you are ready to leave again. Not actually used it myself so don't know what the prices are like.

Re: Relocating to London

I'd work out your take home pay in Singapore (after tax, CPF etc) then use a UK tax calculator (this one seems reasonably up to date https://listentotaxman.com/ ) to work out what you'd need to earn to get the equivalent in your pocket in GPB. The overall taxes you'll pay (including National Insuran...
