Re: Holiday intensive program in Mandarin

Hello! I was facing the same problem previously, both kids just started learning Mandarin and I signed them up for hua centre a couple of months ago. I was unhappy with the progress they were making. I think they do not get enough attention in a centre with 1 teacher attending to more than 10 kids. ...

Dulwich

Hello! Just thought to offer my 2 cents worth - I have a couple of friends who have enrolled their children into this school. I have taken a look at the curriculum and so far, I think that they are doing pretty well. The students are assessed and grouped into different classes based on their strengt...

The Australian School offers a large-ish program. I've heard that AIS offer programs during the summer vacation, ranging from cooking to drama and the likes. I can't remember what the name of the company is, perhaps you can give AIS a call. I'm not sure about how good it is, my friend's child was g...

Aren't salad prices a bit over the top here? I've seen places which charge about 6-12$ for a small to med sized bowl and they aren't really that great. its better to make them at home, can't be that hard or time consuming to chop a few veggies and add a bit of dressing on them. Variety for vegetabl...

Good Chinese Tutor to Recommend

Just to share, I have a great Chinese tutor for my twins and daughter, all aged below 15. She is able to speak English pretty well – that was an important requirement for us as we don’t understand mandarin and would like to be able converse with our tutor about our children’s progress. So far, our k...

I checked with my S/O. She says that the Australian IS runs at the bottom of the rankings in any of the math/science competitions they are in but Tanglin does much better. IS that a useful indicator? (FYI - my USC S/O went to an Australian school up until grade 10 in the early 80's and is shocked a...
