Plants that deter insects? Suggestions appreciated

Hi

Hope you'd be able to point me in the right direction re this. I'm looking to grow some insect repelling plants (e.g. Vetiver, Citronella, lemon grass etc...)

Anyone has any suggestions re types of plants or where I could get them?

Most lemon grass I've seen has had its roots cut off :(

Cheers

^^This. I used to be a regular customer out at Sungei Kadut until I bought my HDB flat 16 years ago. Before that I had a complete woodworking shop in my backyard when I lived in a ginormous Black & White in Seletar Camp. In fact, in addition to my woodworking shop and had a pretty good Autoshop as ...

Where to get woodworking equipment? Amazon UK or Singapore

Hi I'm looking to buy a work bench and other woodworking hand tools (saws, chisels, mitre saws, squares, clamps etc. Am I better off sourcing these locally or amazon? Most likely UK website whose vendors are more likely to deliver to SG? Let me know? Maybe someone would be kind enough to show me aro...

Did you sign a 2-yr lease? I have only heard of co-paying when signing shorter leases, but with a standard lease the landlord will pay 1 month's worth of rent as a fee to the agent (or rather both agents will split this between them). Haven't sign anything, not even an offer has been made...my rati...

Re: Property agents in SG, should I pay for the fees?

Hi all My agent (tenant's agent) has asked that I pay for the agent's fees too. She says that she's been spending a lot of time looking for properties and organizing viewings. We've seen a number of properties > 10 I think So she reasons after factoring co-broking and further split of the remainder...

I'd be interested to know about the prices there, I have my own tailor here, who is quite good, but I may be getting Ang Moh taxed, not sure. I was getting shirts and suits from him but now just trousers - the tailors at some of the department stores here are pretty iffy. Maybe I shd go there with ...

If suits form an important part of your life, the old adage is still true - you get what you pay for and i'm yet to find a tailor here that ticks all the boxes! When I bought my stuff at Christian Armani they stapled a swatch of the materials I selected to both their work order and my receipt. When...

Looking for conservation house / shophouse property to rent

Hi all I've just arrived in SG and have been house hunting I've been looking for conservation house / shophouse property to rent (max budget 4k, prefer 750sqft or even 1000sqft++) Any advice? Is anyone here looking for the same thing? Is it worth getting a housemate to rent a bigger unit (1500sqft++...

Agreed Bunter, there seem to be some bad apples, that spoil the barrel. It reminds me of the crap that goes on at Sim Lim, for electronics. When you spec your suit, small swatches of the chosen cloth/lining (even buttons, if they're above the default) should be stapled to your receipt, together wit...
