It's a shame that Orchard Central is so rubbish but it's badly designed and apparently is owned by the same people who run the Clarke Quay central which is also badly designed, has rubbish shops and is not a particularly good mall. I'm not sure what they're trying to achieve with Orchard Central but...

I shop at M&S, Dorothy Perkins, Monsoon (when they've got a sale on!) and occasionally New Look if they've got anything in that's not made for a 15 year old :? The Per Una range in M&S is OK, not as frumpy as some of the other stuff - if they've got a sale on they're worth checking out. Weelock Plac...

My sister-in-law got a 20% discount on the flyer - they asked if she was on holiday here and she said yes and they gave her the discount without even asking to see the boarding pass! Some of them are probably worth doing, but I'd only go for it if it was somewhere I wanted to go and visit or eat any...

I took my daughter to an optician in one of the malls because she said she was getting blurred vision and he recommended that I take her to the eye clinic at KK Women and Children's hospital because he said that children need a more detailed eye exam than adults. KK is a public hospital so although ...

maybe they are testing them ready for use elsewhere.

It doesn't actually bother me and I'm sure those who have to watch them for their job don't sit there looking at everyone if they're just going about their business normally - that's not who they are interested in.

The NEA one is quite useful for the next hour or so if you look on the rain location page, but the rest of it isn't particularly accurate mainly, I think, because it is such a small island. It often says showers in the afternoon and it ends up being very dry instead, but if the sky is looking a bit ...

I also noticed the 'murder' spree this past two weeks. I also noticed that here in Singapore, the killing incidents usually occur at their homes and the people involved are usually close to the victims. Yes, I've noticed that too, people being stabbed, thrown off balconies etc - there seems to be a...

to Carolinemain - You could try the American Association - they have a job finding area on their website which is aimed at expats (you don't have to be from the USA, but you have to pay to join). Some still want PR but not all.

sometimes you get Yukon gold at Fairprice but stock is erratic and they might be off the shelves for weeks at a time. We eat mashed potatoes quite a bit in our house and I usually buy the big bags of USA potatoes at giant or cold storage (I think it's 2.5 kg) - they do the job fine, good for roastie...

Need a Home Hair Treatment

What's a good hair treatment to buy to use at home? Hairdressers are always telling me my hair is too dry so I think I need to buy something that I can use once per week (a hair mask perhaps). I can't afford expensive salon treatments so I'm looking for one I can do myself.
