Re: Setting up a company by an EP holder

Thanks a lot, it's pretty clear! Bottom line: You can own a company but you can't run it on your EP. And setting it up implies "running". You're going to need that other party. As for hiring a resident director, is that equal to engaging one of the companies that provide a package of corporate addre...

Setting up a company by an EP holder

Hi there, I am currently an EP holder (director) in a start-up company and I have no plans to quit my current job. However, I would like to set up a company not related to my current occupation. No plans to be a director of this new company or issue my own EP or be anyhow involved except for owning ...

Looking for Chinese language courses for foreigners

I am looking for good (efficient!) Chinese language courses for foreigners in Singapore. Being realistic, I understand it's impossible to learn the characters but I would like to gain some speaking skills, tones, just to be able to converse about basic things.
Appreciate your advice.

Re: Can anyone suggest good gynecologist near Serangoon

Hi I just moved here 2 months back and would like to consult with good gynecologist near my residential area Serangoon. I search this post and saw that people are recommending abt Mt Elizabeth hospital but this seems to be very far away from my home. I believe there is no concept of "very far" in S...

Choosing an Expat Health Insurance

Hi there! I am changing jobs at the moment and looking for an expat insurance as my new company's plan looks pretty basic. Insurance broker proposed a few options. Appreciate your advice/feedback on the following insurers. To my shame, I've never heard about them before. 1. À La Carte Health (ALC) 2...

Re: Looking for ENDOCRINOLOGIST in Singapore

Thank you but I am not Japanese. if you are japanese (just guessing from your user name), you might want to consider getting a referral from ジャパン グリーン クリニック. it will be easier to do follow-ups as well as getting the paperwork sorted when you go back to japan (or another country with a japan green br...

Looking for ENDOCRINOLOGIST in Singapore

Hi All,

I am looking for a very good endocrinologist in Singapore specialized in thyroid diseases.
Please, don't suggest things like "just go to hospital and ask". Your personal experience is much more precious.
Thanks a lot in advance

I tried a few banks but they require EP card. Citibank and DBS are ok with IPA but their conditions aren't attractive. :(

Hi all! Any idea which bank opens accounts for foreigners with IPA only? My EP card will be issued in 2 weeks but I want to set up a bank account within next few days.

Thank you guys! I called MOM to clarify this issue and surprisingly everybody can bring the tests results from their home countries. Then you only need any loca GP to sign a medical report. Those neighbourhood doctors "also can la" :D :D

Ok, go to a private clinic then. Just don't be surprised if it costs 10*+ what a local GP could get it done for. This is what I found in my IPA: all the tests should be taked in labs approved by MOH only :? I suppose any local doctor will send my blood to one of those labs otherwise it'll be...

I think I understood how it works. Ministry of Health has a list of approved labs on its website. Each of those labs provides pre-employment medical exam services. For example: https://www.theclinicalab.com/pb/wp_337 ... 2620560378

You should carefully read the IPA regarding the acceptable clinics and laboratories. They have a fear, perhaps well founded, that some folks might try to fake the results. It is unlikely the neighborhood doctor will have the facilities to do the necessary blood test. I'd call around to the various ...
