Refresher Driving Lessons

My wife and i both have permanent Singapore license. I am able to drive comfortably but she is a bit nervous since she has not driven in 5 years and we dont want to risk a new car.

Is there an option for her to take 5-6 hours of refresher driving lessons to feel confident ?

Re: Director level role at Financial Services Firm

Do they have borderless accounts (like bank accounts)? Its a Payment Industry. I don't know what is a borderless account? I missed u too PNGMK :) Things were good for me so I never had chance to ask any questions. I had a job at data scientist in a silicon valley company. So, they paid well. So, I ...

Director level role at Financial Services Firm

Hi What is a Director level role in an American Financial Services firm like ? I am from tech background (work at top Silicon Valley firm in Singapore). But I am an IC. I have an offer as a Director level role with people management role. I will be managing an Analytics team. My thought is that some...

Re: Unfair system for Citizenship Application

Recently, my wife was telling me about a couple who is moving to Canada. They want to live here but their children PR was rejected even tho the parents are PR. So, you expect future citizens to be fully committed and yet you reserve the right to judge the usefulness of people who are willing to comm...

Re: Unfair system for Citizenship Application

I think the first course of action for the OP is to stop referring to these cases as his friends because you are clearly not friendship material. A citizenship is a reward for you past commitment to Singapore with a hope that it stays that way in future. Just hope, not a bond :)

Re: Fresh PhD holder salary in industry

The reason why experience is preferred over Ph.D. or graduate degree is mainly due to the quality of managers here. Most can talk, delegate and pray. But they cannot mentor or train or teach or lead by example. Therefore, it is always safer to get someone who has low long-term potential but has some...

Re: PR chances or pursue dream of my job?

When I went to get PR card, they asked me if I am in the same job. I was but what I gathered is that it wont matter even if you change jobs. I suggest follow your dreams rather than compromize. Hi there! Just to shed some light on your situation, I applied for PR in April 2016. I quit the company wh...

Re: Student Pass rejected

At the same time, it is possible some error happened in your STP application. So, appeal mite help. I did my PhD in Singapore. And my EP was rejected not once, but twice. Both due to misinformation in the application. Thanks to HR. And when I applied for PR later, I got it in one attempt despite the...

Re: Student Pass rejected

Really sorry to hear this. I hope it works out for you. But working remotely does not sound good. Most PhD students anyways do courses in the first year or so . They really work with supervisors later on. My advice will be: Request NTU to defer admission by 1 semester. If your case is approved, join...

This is simply not possible unless you have spoken to the Indian maids which I doubt. So, you have basically heard such stories from others who may or may not be exaggerating. Although, I know of a India fren who is a nice guy but two of his maids ran away and one complained about his wife. So yes, ...

Re: Decision on Purchasing House

I think a better way to put it would be Financial Freedom rather than Early Retirement. If I dont need to work for money, I can be happier n enjoy working more. Whether one does gardening or research should not matter, as long as its his passion. However, dont defend Conservative, SafePlay and Compr...
