Re: Verbally Accept Offer but a Better Offer Comes Out

My two cents worth: do what you clearly know to be the right thing and accept company A's offer. You should start your career off on the right note. Your salary will go up as your career progresses.

Re: British - Moving to SG (Wife is SC)

Objectively speaking, is it challenging to get a job with EP? Every time I look at jobs in SG, they all seem to have disclaimers that say that they’re not interested in anyone requiring a work pass. If I spoke to the recruiting companies and explained my circumstances, would it possibly make them c...

@PNGMK why wouldn't Exec and Senior Execs use the PEP route, that shouldn't be a problem during job change right? or any issue with PEP as well?

Re: Moving to Singapore from San Francisco

I would actually be more concerned about when the OP referred to "I get the fun of living in a very vibrant place but that alone isn't good enough to make me leave where I am today." I'm really not sure that Singapore meets the criteria of being a very "vibrant place" - at least certainly for somebo...

Re: Condo with large roof terrace

I know someone who bought the cheapest penthouse unit they could find simply because of the boasting rights. Their terrace is a sun trap and completely unused - but its additional square footage was part of the cost. So the actual apartment itself is small and narrow.

The 7th is the PR
And I'm willing to bet he will have issues when he next tries to renew his REP.

Re: How's day 1 of opening the local economy?

My gym was open from 7 this morning. Up until 8 am, there was just me and a couple of other lunatics. After 8, more people came in but it wasn't so bad. The local coffee shop next door had a few diners but all seemed to be obeying the rules - those not eating were wearing masks. But it's very early ...

Re: PEP processing time (personal employment pass)

Quick word of advice - speaking of preconceived notions, I've seen a lot of these and general negativity/borderline inappropriate comments from you and others on this forum, so would suggest checking those. Not that SMS needs any defending, but the 'negativity' or 'borderline inappropriate comments...

Re: Would you rent or buy a property via virtual viewing?

Even with condo show flats, developers have tricks up their sleeves: you'll never see any doors, lots of mirrors on the walls and, my favorite, custom-built furniture like sofas and beds that are actually downsized to make the unit look bigger.

Re: Safe entry Singapore?

Where should we find the safe entry check out button? When using the safe entry barcode, once you are logged in, I do not see the check out immediately. I always had to click back and click on the link again To check out, you repeat the same procedure that you used to check in. Scan the QR code wit...

Re: Working from home decreasing or increasing productivity?

WD40's comments are WAY too simplistic. There are many people who need the 'social' side of working. If you are a natural introvert, WFH is made for you. But others need that face-to-face interaction. Some people like to have a physical separation between work and home. Others, as pointed out above,...

If it's regional travel bubbles, Singapore die-die. Total incompetence all the way around it.
I think the only countries they would consider it with will be NZ, Oz and HK. (If these countries want to reciprocate). Taiwan would be off the cards for 'sensitivity' reasons.

Prime Video is a separate app but If I'm not mistaken, I used my Amazon Prime account to log into the app once I downloaded it. (It was some time ago...)

Re: Amazon video

The Expanse is superb (if you are a science fiction buff), The Magicians is very enjoyable (Harry Potter for grown ups), Bosch is terrific too as is Jack Ryan. I also enjoyed Hanna and am looking forward to The Man in the High Castle, Goliath and Carnival Row. There's enough there to distract you fr...
