Re: Did anyone experience queueing at the mall?

I was quite impressed with how relatively empty Vivocity was yesterday. No near collisions or anything. But there were still some dodos who didn't get the message about social distancing.

- Telok Blangah - Nope - Labrador Park - Labrador Nature & Coastal Walk, which is terrific. Can also walk up Alexandra Road and take in the Southern Ridges walk. https://www.nparks.gov.sg/-/media/nparks-real-content/gardens-parks-and-nature/diy-walk/diy-walk-pdf-files/labradornaturecoastalwalkfinal....

Re: Malls are quiet due to virus?

Is it just one mall I went or happening to most malls? The malls seem to be very quiet on the weekend and also restaurants are mostly empty..or just a few people. Vivocity seems pretty busy and the Japanese restaurant we go to regularly told us that their weekend business been pretty good. Things w...

Re: REP renewal for retired PR

Despite being a PR for just about 15 years, I've never been particularly tempted to become a SC. 1) I don't like the idea of being forced to give up my original citizenship - I regard it as part of my heritage. 2) As a EU citizen I have access to plenty of relatively low-cost countries to retire to ...

Re: The "good wine deals" master thread

Closest I've seen to S$15 that's drinkable is Mensa wines. Their Cab Sauv is pretty nice and I've seen it for as little as $16 during promotions in Cold Storage. My bricks and mortar go to retailer is usually Bottles & Bottles as I find their prices and range to be pretty good (by SG standards). Oh,...

Re: WP rejected inquiries

MOM won't respond to you. They MIGHT respond to your prospective employer IF the employer is interested in finding out the reason for the rejection. However, unfortunately in your case, they don't seem too bothered. I wish I could be more optimistic for you.

Re: Company is demanding 2 Months pay for changing the job within 1 years

1. If the 2 month's salary as compensation for costs of hiring and training you is stated in your letter of employment and you agreed to it, then you are stuck with it. Unless you are prepared (and have deep enough pockets) to hire a lawyer and fight it - and there is no guarantee that yiu will succ...

Re: Chances of success on my PR application

About 4 times my PR got rejected, after rejection in 2017, now applied again during August 2019. Unfortunately I believe you've already answered your own question. If you've already applied 4 times and been rejected 4 times, the chances of your PR ever being approved are pretty much zero. (In fact ...

Re: Property Rental for Self Employed

Strong Eagle covered it. Unless you are a Singapore citizen or permanent resident, you will need an EntrPass/employment pass/work permit to lease an apartment. Simple as that I'm afraid.
