Re: Good gym around CBD area.

Hey Addadude, looking for 1 to 1 personal training, would prefer a more private gym instead of community gyms. In that case, I'd recommend Fitness Factory, owned by 2 of Singapore's top competitive bodybuilders. They really know their stuff (they train trainers for certification) and they don't jus...

Re: Good gym around CBD area.

There are no shortage of gyms in the CBD area. Perhaps you can be more specific about how you define 'good' in this context?

Re: $15,000 - $20,000 Condo suggestions

To add on to PNGMK's advice - your best bet is to move into a short-term service apartment at first and take your time to find the place and location that's right for you. The higher earning members of the expat Indian community tend to congregate round Grange Road/River Valley - as mentioned above,...

Re: Do you miss flying?

Certainly don't miss flying. Airports, planes, idiot fellow passengers, uncomfortable, cramped seats, lousy food etc... Nothing I miss there. But actually visiting places - yes I do miss that.

Re: Higher floors are quieter?

Interesting that nobody has mentioned the horrendous cacophony of sounds of the RSAF fighter jets in late afternoons & early evenings. Especially if living near Paya Lebar or anywhere on the North side of Singapore. Its the bloody Asian Koel ("Ooo Ooo Bird") that goes off outside my window at 5:45 ...

Re: Higher floors are quieter?

If your apartment has double glazing, road noise will not be an issue. I stayed in an apartment facing Bencoolen Street with double glazed windows and couldn't hear any traffic sound at all.

Re: GUIDE: Where should I/we consider living? [Suggested v1.0]

You can actually look in the One North area itself. There are some pretty nice condos there. One stop further away on the MRT will take you to Holland Village which will also have some choices for you. If you don't mind taking the bus (still should be less than 15 mins commute), then you could look ...

Re: Office Dress Code

It depends on the type of company you're joining. If it's in the creative field, what you wear won't be an issue. If you are in a client-facing role, you just have to look smart. If it's in banking you might have some issues depending on the bank. As PNGMK pointed out, most international (Western) c...

Re: Who's back to work in the office?

I'm back in on alternate weeks starting next week. Not really looking forward to it - mostly because of having to wear a mask the whole bloody day... I can easily do (and have been doing) my job from home and would honestly prefer to keep it that way. However certain managerial types are only conten...

Re: When to apply for PR on EP?

Tropical Expat pretty much covered everything. But to be honest, every question you have has been addressed here countless times before and a simple search will give you links to all those threads in case there are other questions you might have. Wait for at least 3 years of tax returns before you b...

I am drawn to the sea and Vivocity. Then, if I were you, I would check out The Corals, The Caribbean or Reflections By The Bay. You can rent a sea view (well marina view) unit and, especially with the The Corals or The Caribbean, be within walking distance of Vivocity. Although it's older, I partic...

Re: Verbally Accept Offer but a Better Offer Comes Out

My two cents worth: do what you clearly know to be the right thing and accept company A's offer. You should start your career off on the right note. Your salary will go up as your career progresses.
