obviously oil producing countries will be less well off and oil importers better off. But overall it's a positive for global economy as some of the key regions struggling (EU, Japan) are big energy importers and need a boost to keep their economies going.... As for Singapore, the biggest oil refinin...

I was just thinking about buying some Aussie shares tmr when the market will surely fall 1-2% following the US/ftse etc. After ASX correcting 10% plus the aud correction, Australia equities are much better value nowadays. Maybe not the bottom but as jr8 mentions, equities yields are attractive and i...

I would also try pressure the agent, who was present when you met and witnessed the verbal agreement to make repairs, but then has sent an email on LL's behalf decommitting from this. I would threaten to report him/her to CEA for misconduct/unethical behavior. Maybe a long shot but might possibly wo...

I'd rather pay twice the price of a McD burger for a Subway. And fill it up with as much green as the Sandwich Artist can push in. Would be interesting to see that HPB flyer with that McD bit. I haven't seen any subsequent flyer but you can still find it online..... As mentioned earlier, just type ...

Do you forsee interest rates going up in US/Europe anytime soon? The EU just cut theirs last week , although there isnt much left to cut. US/UK/Australia etc: Yes it's within sight next year, but will be gently I expect. I think NZ already started, leading the way as always, must be the kiwi timezo...

Japan had negative interest rates in the early 90s. I.e you were penalised for depositing rather than spending money. The latter being believed to be the spark needed to get the economy growing. I.e. 'spending your way out of recession'. http://uk.reuters.com/article/2014/09/10/uk-japan-economy-boj...

http://www.todayonline.com/business/sharper-focus-interest-rates-needed-property-market-projections "Another month passes and another property market forecast is made — but nothing really new is said. If you want to be cynical about it, the prediction of the market’s demise in the near future is ol...

Interest rates still a key factor, and the timing for rate rises seems ever deferred.... I also expect the gov will reconsider the cooling measures if there's anything close to a 20% fall. But yes, the supply demand fundamentals are not that healthy. Governments are only finally prompted to legisla...

It is the sentiment. Until recently, most players couldn't believe there will be a correction in prices more than 5%, if any. But after the latest cooling measure of TDSR, most speculative buyers have their hands tied. With no buyers and reduced number of foreigners/PR approvals in Singapore and mo...

As it was mentioned that it was a "flyer" I have to assume that it was probably just that. An insert that was not part & parcel to the Today paper but an advertising 'flyer'. therefore, it wouldn't be in the Today Online edition. But you probably never get the today newspaper when they are given aw...

It's all garbage. can't agree more! I eat at Macca's compulsorily once every three months to remind myself I shouldn't eat here. It's usually after a few beers though, and then its a large cheeseburger and fries. yeah exactly, I assume this is the general consensus, except apparently in the HPB pub...

Healthy eating at McDonalds
Just flicking through Today paper and see a big Health Promotion Board flyer : "Eating healthy is also good for your wallet" , "Check out the great deals on tastier and healthier dining options " Then turning it over, and lo and behold, one of the vouchers is for $1 off the McNuggets Delight 500 Mea...
