Re: Any not so touristy destinations in SEA?
Just had 3 weeks in SriLanka and absolutely loved it! You have a large cultural area, tea plantations and highland forests/plains, great surfing and beaches and a nearly forgotten unexplored northern half of the country that is only just reopening to tourism. Lovely friendly people and great food to...

As the Cross Island and Jurong lines and stations have yet to be finalised yet it shouldn't be too hard to integrate one or both lines into the High speed plans.

We used SkyZone AirCon S$100 for 5 units. Although I agree with JR8, that it's a total con as we have had the A/C on twice in the 9 months we've lived here!

Re: Singapore not in list of Apple Watch Launch Countries ..
I can buy a citizen automatic that will keep time forever without battery. If I want to spend 10K on a watch I'd much rather buy a watch with the personal craftsmanship and cache that that kind of money will buy. Not something that will need to be charged 4 x every 3 days and will need continual so...

Re: International Schools - jobs
I think you may be a bit late, most schools will advertise around November to January. It also depends if you're looking for a specialised post or general teachng position. I see CIS and Nexus have a few posts free and Tanglin Tust has a couple of cover positins but that's about it.

Re: International Schools - jobs
I think your best bet is to compile a list of all the international schools here and then check their websites. That or TES, that's how my teaching friends ended up out here. Good luck.

Re Gun laws... the use of guns by criminal gangs in Australia is quite a serious problem. It was not this way AFAIK prior to Howard's buy back program. Re: Indian grandfather badly hurt in encounter in Alabama
Because people do own guns and one wrong move, it can cost the cops their lives. But still it leaves a lot to be desired. The way they are trained...........the preemptive strike mentality. I don't really think it's a preemptive strike mentality, but more of a "I've seen too many of my colleagues w...

Re: No more public drinking and retail of alcohol post 10.30
From what I've read/watched it seems a lot of the grief was due to the fact they couldn't play their drums due to them causing a public disturbance , yet for other religious festivals/public holidays celebrated in SG musical instruments, fireworks etc are welcome. Is this a sign of religious intoler...
